i give you insua as my arguement forawrd as youth player, not sent on loan, stayed with the squad and has broken through.

Don't be a prick - I went to the effort last time and you ignored it any way. We release loads of players at various age groups without loans.

The Insua argument is particularly specious as a/ we bought him in so presumably we thought he was more advanced than any of our youth and b/ he was eased into the first team reckoning in a similar way to Kelly is being now.

I think everyone agrees that our development program has not been ideal but I really don't think that loan periods are as cut and dried signs of the end of an Anfield career as you make out. I certainly don't think it is universally the intent.

The thing about the last sentence is that it isn't so clear cut there were plenty of people campaigning for at least two of those to be in the first team this year. I think particularly in the case of defenders like Darby and Kelly you need first team experience at a lower level to make mistakes.

i like insua too - i think he has just been put into a a really unfair position - ideally he would have been second choice, getting regulary game time to help 'ease' him in and aid his development - unfortuntley dossena flopped, aurelio crocked, meant he was really thrown in the deep end - which probably hasn't helped.

Darby was a strange one - iirc was he reserves captain, really well thought off and just seems to have been overtaking by kelly
