I didnt realise it was on LFC TV (sky) I only thought it was online and that aint free is it?Originally posted by BigChief View PostSince Borrell joined and LFC.tv became free I've been watching (and enjoying) our youth/reserves a lot more this season. Here's my opinion on key players up to and including last night's game:
Gulacsi (GK) - Reina incarnate. If we can keep hold on him we'd have the best goalies in the world for the next 20 years. Really is learning well off Reina.
Flannagan (RB) - Reminds me a lot of Kelly. Never overawed and puts in decent crosses. Did better than I expected against Hull, against tricky Ghilas!
CBs - Not really interested in them. Palsson has got excellent pace and likes the ball at his feet. Needs more games to develop. Sama/Wisdom/McGivron - too early to tell with these guys, nothing special.
Alex Cooper - only seen/remember him in one game - yesterday's. Was outstanding defensively and going forwards. Keeping an eye on him.
Wingers - Tom Ince takes control of games at U-18s and can dribble and put in good crosses. Will be tested at reserves level in the next few games. A bit lightweight at the moment. Amoo needs no introduction. Tony Silva, new Portguese lad, too early to tell but has pushed up the ranks very quickly and scored 4 goals already. Borrell likes him. Kacka plays at reserves regularly but can't seem him breaking through beyond that.
CMs - Apart from the obvious ones, Duran looks really accomplished here. After 3 serious injuries he wasn't afraid of playing against big lads and still holding on to the ball. Reminds me a lot of Gago. Looks a bit like a Lady.
Forwards - Dalla Valle is this season's Nemeth. I expect him to score shedloads for reserves next season. Was fast tracked already this season.
There are some promising youngsters coming through. Will Borrell find us an equivalent Xavi/Iniesta/Messi? Who knows, at least he'll instill the "correct" beautiful football into them at a young age (no more hoofball). We should be able to sell quite a few of these for decent amounts of money in the next few years. You Can Lead A Horse To Water , But A Pencil Must Be Lead!

I think we should sacrifice a reserve player before every home game. March one out to the centre circle, the crowd shout kill and bang another young mans dreams are slayed.
We have that many of them its either that or use them as fuel for the boiler that fires up the under soil heating. See I'm even thinking of the planet.
Any other uses you can think of?Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

if you think hes bad you should watch oldfields games for the 18s why the hell he is there i will never no hes shocking they have a better lad on the bench than him and hansen i cant work out the logic at LiverpoolOriginally posted by zimbo View PostHe must have improved a **** load then, because whenever I saw him last season he looked dreadful, completely incapable of dealing with any kind of cross and with zero command of his area.

is an decent goalie but is no Reina incarnate
Bouzanis is our best young keeper anyways.
Cooper had a good game yesterday but Robinson is the one to watch and is the one keeping him out the Under 18's team and the only reason he played yesterday was because Robinson was away with England u18's. Not seen much of Flannagan but Dave Usher has been raving about him all season!
Palsson is a centre mid and has only played CB in the last 3 games due to injury. Ayala i like as a defender but i think Mavinga has a decent chance too, i can see why Wenger was after him too. Wisdom will be a decent player too, he just needs to learn the game more and stop trying to dribble out of trouble so often. Interesting seeing him play on the wings reccently.
Tom Ince was injured so couldn't play yest (hence Silva gettin a call up!).
LDV everyone has raved about since he was 14 and banging in goal for Inters youth teams. Ngoo is similar to Crouch (good feet for a big man)!
Suso 'jesus' will be our Xavi

Funnily enough its Robinson that never impressed me at u-18, maybe because he didn't attack too often. I thought they said Cooper had been injured which is why he hadn't featured more?
Have you seen Suso play? Looking forward to watching him, but LFC.tv sneakily put Academy programmes at weird times in between lots of dross talking and re-runs of re-runs.One tit for another.

I have a nagging thought about that as well - kind of like Micah Richards - was always tremendous at lowel levels due to his physicality, but not quite top drawer at the highest level. He is still only young though...Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI think the feeling re Wisdom is once the other lads have caught up with him in terms of size and strength there'll be little left. Seen him play a few times and he does look like the big playground bully who isn't really all that good.

Are we talking about the same player? I always thought Wisdom could do with bulking up abit more and being more aggressive! The fact he played defensive midfield in last years youth cup run, and has been on the wing for the youth team this year due to his pace and skill suggest he has more to his game. His biggest problem imo is that he tries to dribble out of trouble at times, which may be a reason he has been put on the wing!Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI think the feeling re Wisdom is once the other lads have caught up with him in terms of size and strength there'll be little left.
