I think everyone I have ever heard talk about Wisdom except Jayesh has felt moved to describe him as either a beast or a monster, admittedly often with the qualifier that it was 'for his age'.
Did we pick him up from Bradford originally?"The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

ANDRE WISDOM PROFILE
Date of Birth - 09/05/93
Nationality - English
Position - Defence/Midfield
Intnl Hons - England u16
Signed from Bradford as a 14 year old in January 2008, Andre is still an u16 player even though he's been with the u18s all season.
Big and strong, he is also quick and comfortable on the ball, and looks to be a player with huge potential. Andre has been a mainstay of the u18 side throughout their run to the FA Youth Cup Final and excelled in a variety of positions, starting at right back before switching to centre half, and eventually moving up into midfield for the semi final against Birmingham.
An England u16 international, he was also named as an unused substitute for Gary Ablett's reserve side early in 2008, despite only being 15 years old at the time.

The changes at the Academy, specially bringing in Borrell, has been the only excitement I've had this year (apart from glimpses of Torres). Got to say I'm enjoying it, Raheem Sterling is only 14 but didn't look out of place in the U-18. Trying to keep my enthusiasm in check. One tit for another.

He was strong for his age, hence he could play with the older lads in the FA Youth cup run. But he played with the older lads because of his ability. His physichal attributes did not stand out from those at U18 level, if anything they were lesser than most of the players he came up against. And he is so comfartable on the ball it's untrue. he looks like a young Brazilian with the ball at his feet.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI think the feeling re Wisdom is once the other lads have caught up with him in terms of size and strength there'll be little left. Seen him play a few times and he does look like the big playground bully who isn't really all that good.
the only problem was he didn't know when to dribble and when to get rid. He could end up being one of those very talented players able to play any position. If I had to pick one player to make it from our youth teams I would pick him.Forwards.......

Bouzanis is our best young keeper anyways. Knew I'd find use for this thread. :-)Originally posted by zimbo View PostHe must have improved a **** load then, because whenever I saw him last season he looked dreadful, completely incapable of dealing with any kind of cross and with zero command of his area.
Soon no one will be able to af-ford Gulacsi. One tit for another.

i tell you what boys - ive just seen a clip of our new boy Suso and he looks outstanding.
He played in the 0-0 v wrexham and his technique is absolutely spot on. For a 16 year old he plays way beyond his years and looks a phenomenal talent.
If you see the clip just look at his first touch.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

Hi, alas I live in London so can't follow them closely enough. But I'm always checking the next academy/reserves fixtures to make sure I don't miss it on LFCtv. Since Borrell arrived (and the free channel) I got more satisfaction with our youth than the main team last season.Originally posted by -V- View PostBigchief you follow the reserves very closely don't you? Which of them do you think could push on and challenge for first team roles this season?
The bits I saw of Insua and Leto I couldn't understand the fuss. Insua pushed on so I stood corrected but he proved his limitations. As for the current bunch I think only Pachecho can rightly step into the main team straight away. Kelly and Ayala should be given a chance to cover alongside Carra/Agger in some games and Nemeth/Ecclestone need to be told this is their last chance and give them first team cup games. All this and Gulacsi.
But I'm not interested in breakthroughs this season, my enthusiasm lies in what Borrell is doing. Tom Ince seems to have blossomed under him, I like the look of Silva and of course Raheem Sterling and Jonjo will have all my attention in the next few months. Exciting times boys, we're back in a big way and it will come through our youth. Realise they're not all under Borrell but you can see his influence/advice.
Need to see Suso soon. Lots of rave reviews.....let the season begin! :cheer:One tit for another.
