    Right-oh then.

You prefer to say that i have an anti-rafa stance, rather than that i want what i think would be best for the club. As you are.

Finish 4th for what ? To get spanked out of Europe again - i've seen us since the early 80's conquer all through to where we are now. At the moment i am disinterested, more in how we play than in the boardroom nonsense. It is so tedious and thousands of posts are dedicated to what is very simple. We buy on the whole, average players and the team plays with no spirit or ambition or excitement, some players are played out of position, others are played when they are off form others are dropped for no reason. Solution is simple - i don't even need to spell it out.

Let me make this clear, i do not think you dislike Rafa the man, and have never tried to imply that.

If the other poster you replied to was, then that's not what i was agreeing with.
I wasn't, Craig's comical ranting has been anti Rafa for a while now, he can deny it but that's okay I suppose as he doesn't like people to question his posts even if he does contradict himself regularly but that aside, his posts clearly state that he wants Rafa out.

My original point was that as he's been banging on about how we can achieve 4th spot and my question was to ask if it is achieved would he change tack and support Rafa, but of course I was wrong he's not anti Rafa after all, he just wants him out ???

No danger of you winning mastermind, eh mate? You think you know what i want, better than i do?

My first choice of what i 'want' is rafa to change his mentality and send us out to attack teams and with the only one thought, to win the game.

If he wont do that, then i want a manager who will. If i had my way, it'd be Rafa.

So stick that in your fan65 pipe and smoke it.

If your pun with 'number' was deliberate, then that's superb

So you have changed your stance.

                      Good for you.

And you really shouldn't encourage people to smoke as according to the government it's bad for us.

Oh hold on a minute, I've missed your point again haven't I?

I havent changed my stance, the only reason i want a new manager is because i know Rafa WONT change. Hasnt changed since 2004, why would he suddenly change now?

Rafa's tactics have & do change, for example putting Gerrard behind Torres at the back end of last year was hailed as a positive attacking move that gave us that great end of season run. Okay that hasn't had the same effect this year but that may be down to the loss of Alonso with no direct replacement and a season of constant injury problems a loss of form leading to a general lack of confidence in the whole squad.

The lack of a top class striking partner/cover player must also limit Rafa's options in attack, Of course that is something he should have addressed himself having spent best part of £40m on a RB & what was supposed to be Alonso's replacement. But I can't believe Rafa didn't have a striker targeted maybe only to have his plans scuppered from behind the scenes.

Having said that I find Rafa's reluctance to make substitutions early enough to affect games is worrying. His apparent faith in his team selection and game tactic appears stoic in the extreme. I find that laudable though, considering the pressure he is under.

Sunday's game was enjoyable for many reasons but for me the most pleasing aspect was that the players were playing with drive and confidence that has been missing all season, Gerrard's power running was back, Babel actually looked like he was enjoying tormenting their defence & looked very strong on the ball and Agger was making his magnificent surging runs from the back.

Rafa's tactics were the same again on Sunday so what's changed this week to make the team look so more assured & confident especially after the let down at manure last week ?

p.s. I heard Steve Bruce today say that they were totaly outplayed by a resurgent Liverpool team, fair play to the manc *******. He also laughed along with the Beachball for a head chant.

I'm not talking about tactics, i'm talking about mentality and having the desire or the balls (call it what you like) to actually think '**** it, not bothered about what the opposition can bring to the table, we are just going to go out there and beat them, because we are better' - he just wont do that on a consistent basis and it's not good enough to wait until we're virtually out of the title race/race for 4th place, before we actually adopt a 'must win' mentality.

We should have a must-win mentality for pretty much all of our games, even early in the season - but under Rafa, that has not proven to be the case and IMO, that's the only way a manager of LFC should be thinking.
