Only reason I can think is that Rafa wants the three behind Torres to be fluid, interchanging and mobile. This season Gerrard has been far less dynamic than in the past. To my mind though it just pushes that problem into a deeper (and arguably more important position).

excellent line up i reckon - let those ****ers worry about us from all areas on the pitch.....

Also, people have been screaming out for gerrard to play in the centre...... with only mascher playing as the holding player..... this is what i expect to see for the majority of the rest of the season - in the league games at least.....

i hope we start with a high tempo with a line up like this:

We really should be looking to get Aquilani in the team.

For me he seems to be the only player looking to find space to recieve a pass. There is no movement in our side this season, and that excuses the amount of lumping the ball we do.
