He had a very good hour, although there's no way he ever meant that crazy flick in the first half

We were fabulous to watch in the first half and it shows we can play at that tempo when confidence is up and form is okay. I think we need to approach Birmingham in the exact same frame of mind.

If we go to St Andrews trying to be cautious and overly respectful it'll be dire, there was enough in that team and performance yesterday to blow most other sides away.

emjoyed it again yesterday!! can't moan which is frustrating haha

ah actually i will moan - what the **** has happened this season - how cna we play like that one week, and then utter ****e other weeks -

As soon as i saw the line up I was happy - for once at home, we only had 3-4 defence minded players - carra, mascher, insua, and agger - though agger likes to get forward!!

so straight away i was thinking great we are going to attack - which we did - makes a change from when we seem to only have two or three attacking players.

Torres is just out of this world. We just bamboozled sunderland - in fact i was bamboozled myself, trying to work out what formation we were playing because instead of being rigid and toight, the players seemed to be floating about freely and the play was quick, fluid, and we got forward filling the box. More more more please though i do fear we have left it too late
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I think Rafa's approach to the season is similar to his approach to games, spend the first 2/3's playing a cautious style and then becoming more attacking in the last third if need be.

Joking aside though I think wiw's point is valid we did start the season this way but didn't really have the right style of play (as we were missing Alonso's presence in midfield). The injuries kicked in and badly affected us not long after and we fell apart. I'd like to see us start next season the way we're playing now, in a positive way an getting at teams
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Away at Birmingham though Rafa will play Torres isolated by himself up front probably drop Babel and chuck Lucas in there for added insurance.

We'll go there looking to pinch a 1-0, rather than taking the game to them from the off and inevitably we'll end up drawing.

              Me three.

Rafa has all the potential to become a football management legend but every year he displays the same frustrating "head down, steam forward, cut in and shoot wide of the mark" predictability which is holding him and us back.

              Rafa = Ryan Babel.

                  we did.

We were **** tho. this is due to squad strength in depth.

injuries up front which stunts our attacking play - look at yesterday once torres and gerrard went off

Defence was sh1t. simply, our defence looked like another teams. carragher has to take much of the blame here as our normal rock was pants.

bottom line is that we scored less and conceded more. we were going for it tho. mid season we stopped all that, got back to basics and scrapped through games with dull football. hopefully now with a fully fit squad we can play the way we - and rafa - wants us to

Yesterday really showed how good we can be with a fully fit first 11, really need extra cash to build our squad up for when the injuries hit like they did this year.

What about Kuyt eh, flicking a mid air pass from behind his back with his heel....sweet pass that was. lol...really laughed when he pulled that off...i thought wtf...Dirk...is that you....rubbed my eyes...just to be sure....if only Torres had slotted the chance at the end of the move...would have been extra sweet.

And also, Kuyts face when Torres scored the first...he had his hand up to his mouth in an omg type way....almost like he was embarrassed for Sunderland and didn't wanto laugh out loud, it was great to see him totally in awe of a fellow player...and the goal he'd just scored..

Love the guy, i know he'll never be one of our greatest or best players, but i just love how he go's about his liverpool career, he's giving everything he can possibly give, and putting his heart and soul into doing his best.

Did anyone see Bruce's post-match press conference shown on LFC TV?

A journo asked him about the chants (the usual plus the beach ball chant) and he laughed, said how the Scouse sense of humour is growing on him ....that he's had good days at Anfield but this time has to leave with his tail between his legs. He then said "I've got to take the beating and come back next time ready......and with a smaller head"
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

My opinion of Bruce is improving.
