    i find it funny the upturn in form started when rafa started giving him more than 5 mins at the end of a game and actually showed some confidence and belief in his abilities to start him for more than 1 game in a row. of course the world cup has a role to play.............for every player not just babel. every player worth his salt wants to play world cup football.

      Rather than going round in circles. I'll agree to disagree with you.... But as far as im concerned if we're looking to players like Babel to get us to the quality we are aiming for, then we're in deeper **** than i thought.

        fair play, i'll agree to disagree.....but as far as im concerned, for the players that we have at the club right now we need to be looking at players like babel to be getting us what we are aiming for. along with torres, ste, agger, mash and reina.

            See that just it though. Babel's name doesnt deserve to be in the same sentence as these players.... **** it i'll leave it now.... cba tbh

                Probably not. He did say in dec that he wanted to go out on loan because the most important thing to him was getting into the national team. But while he's trying its a good thing for us. Maybe he'll have a good run and a good world cup and we'll get £10m for him in the summer

                    Hopefully so.

                    That would probably be the best thing for us, because i cannot see him putting in a shift after the world cup.

                    I'm not sure he'll go to SA though.

                      The thing with Babel is that hes a quite and very shy lad, his Miss doesn't even sit with the wags apparently, not out of ignorance they just do their own thing.

                      Babel wants to be loved and I think he is starting to progress. The last thing he needs now is the fans or anybody else for that matter on his back.

                      If we can get this lad to believe in himself and get focused on the pitch he could be one hell of a player.

                      Funnily enough my Uncle reckons that Barnes was the same when started out lol.

                          Got to say i'm not going with the 'his forms picked up because of the world cup' Imo it's like the Rev Leroy has said he's finally getting a run of games as a starter, this for 9/10 players will make a huge difference.

                            I'm not sticking up for him, but skimming through these comments in a number of threads it makes me laugh how many of our fans fans were drooling over signing Luisao as a replacement for Hyypia a couple seasons back, now after this performance completely scorning him.

                                I wasn't saying he's as good as him, just that he could be our best winger since him! Theres a big difference in that.
