City have 4 games at home too, so its gone.

Rafa knew it, thats why he took Torres off. Juve can have him.

I didn't think we would get fourth before this game, and I certainly don't think we will now. We now need Spurs to drop at least seven points (not six because our goal difference is ****e compared to there's) and Man city to drop at least eight (not seven because again their goal difference is superior to ours) Whilst I think Spurs could easily drop 7 points against Utd, chelsea, Arsenal and City, I honestly cannot see Man city dropping eight. We royally screwed up today. You don't start cranking up the pressure with 20 minutes to go, this should have happened right from the get go.

Had we beat Birmingham I would still have fancied us to do it. As it stands I now think we have to win every game remaining. And that includes Chelsea at home. Who are going for the title and have no European games to worry about anymore. I can't see it now.

In all honesty it could be that Ryan Babel getting sent off midweek has cost us big time. As has falling apart away from home yet again.

Lets beat benfica and then just go for it. It's not over yet, but we are right up against it now.

chelsea will be going for league so we will prob lose 3 points there.

fulham are in some good form so very possible to lose points there too.

city have 5 home games and will be right up for it as they have no loser league to get distracted by.

5th is possible but i'd be very surprised if we get any higher.

                      MoanU
                      Le Arse
                      WestHam

WHU on the last day of the season fighting for relegation-survival (hopefully). All are difficult games I expect them to drop 6pts at least from these games)

It's theirs to lose but the main question is are we there to take advantage of it?

That also seems to be Rafa's policy where seasons are concerned - faff around scratching your arses for the first 7 months, then start actually trying around the middle of March. He takes the dictum "A season is a marathon, not a sprint" to the extreme, throws any chance of winning silverware away in those first few months in the name of conserving energy for the final sprint. I swear his brains are made of walnuts.

I actually think you might be right. Maybe he thinks a UEFA cup win can salvage the season and buy him more time. And he's realistic and knows 4th is a lost cause.

well it seems he is gambling on that statement again

What else hurts is watching Alonso for Madrid as well. Seeing him pinging the ball around the park and picking out those match winning passes that we have missed all season. Selling him has been as tragic as getting rid of nando or stevie.
