I really am confused as to what's happening with him. Initially I thought we were right not to rush him back in after such a long layoff, but the fact he's not coming on off the bench anymore confuses me. The West Ham game confused me more than last night though, when we were 3-0 up that's the perfect time to give a player experience of the league or fitness or whatever as the game is won.

I think something must have gone on behind the scenes, either in terms of injury or attitude or Rafa just doesn't rate him having seen what he does in training.

I thought he's been decent enough when he's played, given that he's been injured and hasn't had a run of games, I've looked at him and thought he could be a good player given the chance, but I'm not sure he's going to get that chance here.

Alberto Aquilani's agent has refuted talk that the midfielder could leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

Rumours have been rife that Aquilani could be on his way out of Anfield this summer after just one season on Merseyside.

The Italian international has failed to hit the heights at Liverpool since his arrival from Roma and due to fitness and form has been unable to establish himself as a regular in Rafa Benitez's first-team plans.

However, Aquilani's representative Franco Zavaglia insists the proposed sale of the club will have no bearing on the midfielder's future at Anfield.

"I don't think Liverpool will dismantle the team because they are in an economic crisis," Zavaglia told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

"Plus, Alberto has a five-year deal there. How can people say that he will be sold?"

As this seasons basically a write off anyway, I think he's being steadily groomed for next year. Taking it gently with the old injury and integrating him into the squad and the EPL. He''l be here at least one more year.
