Pop quiz.....who do you go for when you need a goal?

Before his transfer to Liverpool, Pacheco enjoyed a reputation as a rising star in the ranks of Barcelona's youth academy. Such was his ability to score goals from almost any position, teammates nicknamed him El Asesino ("The Killer").[2][3]

Pacheco made his first start for the Liverpool reserves on 5 February 2008, against Bolton Wanderers. He scored the first goal of the game, a low curling shot past Ian Walker. In April 2008, Pacheco made a 50-yard pass to assist Krisztián Németh in scoring the only goal of the game against Blackburn Rovers Reserves, which secured the Premier Reserve League North title for Liverpool. On 7 May 2008, Pacheco, who came on as a substitute in the second half, threaded a through pass to teammate Lucas Leiva to score the third and final goal in Liverpool's Reserve League final victory over Aston Villa at Anfield.[4]

He made his first team debut on 9 December 2009, as a second half substitute for Alberto Aquilani in a UEFA Champions League match against Fiorentina.[5][6] His league debut came just over two weeks later on Boxing Day when he replaced Aquilani once more in a 2–0 home win over Wolverhampton Wanderers. On 18 February 2010, Pacheco came on as a substitute in the 75th minute for Aquilani in a UEFA Europa League match vs Unirea Urziceni, six minutes later he provided an assist for David N'Gog when he headed a pass back across goal for N'Gog to score the match-winning goal. On the 25th of April, 2010, he came on as a substitute for Steven Gerrard, on the 81st minute against Burnley.

Also Rafa has not been pilloried once for his line up today i dont think....but he has for some of the most stupid subs he has made in a long time!! degen over pacheco? defend that ****er!!!
The team picked itself there really were no other feasible options!

The substitutions I don't understand, I don't see the point in even putting Degen and El Zhar on the bench as I don't see what they offer (I guess we had to because there's no-one else). But I'll be hacked off if they are still here next season as they are clearly nowhere near good enough . Degen is so bad that we'd play a midfielder out of position rather than play him

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Okay, I'll leave you alone with your frustrations or maybe you can vent them with some of the chaps on here. Have a good night.

What amazes me most is that for 119 mins Reyes & especially Forlan did absolutely **** all - 1 moment of slightly poor defending from Johnson & a bit of bad luck (which has gone against Liverpool Football Club all the ****ing time this season!), and all the hard work of 120 mins of football counts for nought ffs!
Anyway I thought Masch was more to blame than Johnson for the goal...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

It's been that kind of season. Just when you think we could not possible sink more it happens again and again. Pretty demoralizing I must admit.

****in ell considering.... I thought we played very well.... Defense was solid for the majority. No player shone from a tackle. Some moments of inspiration in attack.... Just lacked that 'venom' in the finishing. Which was always gonna be the case. Every player gave their all.

At the end of the day if Forlan hadnt (if's and buts i know) put that away im pretty sure the majority of people on ere would be sayin what a good performance it was.

.... Plus (excuses i know) but that extra time away goal rule is a load of me arse. They basically had half an hour longer to score an away goal than we did at their gaff.

Kuyt as a lone striker doesn't work at the best of times, he didn't look fit from the start, fair play to him we worked hard but it didn't really work for him. We had a make shift defence with two players playing out of position. The lack of depth in our squad is glaring no left back available, no decent cover at right back, thanks to the exile of Riera we had no options at left midfield, and thanks to the injuries upfront no options on the right the team picked itself because that's all we have avaliable. Our only options from the bench were Pacheco (a 19 year old inexperienced kid) and Ngog (injured) none existant. But we had to use them as players were out on their feet. I don't know what happened in extra time, we used to have high fitness levels, but in ET everyone looked shagged out.

Why do we persist with sticking El Zhar and Degen on the bench? Seriously I don't see what El Zhar offers, and Degen is so bad that we'd rather play a midfielder at right back than play him. I'd rather stick two kids from the reserves on the bench, at least they might have a future at the club.
Bringing El Zhar on was a dreadful decision by Rafa. It was as if the fella wasn't on the field, a totally pointless effort

Am I the only one that thinks El Zhar played well when he came on?

I thought he passed the ball really well and his movement was good too. The only thing I recall him doing that wasn't so great was a poor cross but that was about it.

Both el zhar and degen were getting involved much more than pacheco, hardly got a touch of the ball. The wankfest surrounding pacheco is a bit ott, you'd think he was messi.

Probably just heat of the moment stuff, frustration that we were on the verge of going out, and frustrated at being taken off. Nothing in it IMO
