I've seen El Zhar in the reserves several times and he never looks good enough even at that level. I can't believe a 23 year old professional, who plays on the wing, can't cross a ball. The first thing he had to do last night was deliver a cross from the right. A straightforward thing to do. And he put it in the Kop.Last edited by Shaggy; 30-04-10, 01:25 PM.Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

That is why we need some more depth, to be honest it is not like we had a great deal of options yesterday. No Torres, Maxi, Aurellio, Insua and thanks to him being a tit, Riera. Imagine the the difference they would makeOriginally posted by The_weatherman View PostWe need some changes, the bench yesterday was our downfall. It's actually amazing that a club of Liverpool's stature is bringing on El Zhar and Degen in vital games like yesterday. Players who have no future with the club either.
Once again his subs came at the wrong moment and the wrong players came on, I'd like to see how El Zhar fares in the reserves, is he any better than Amoo for example?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling for Rafa's head but I'd like to see some common sense from him once in a while.

The team picked itself yesterday, we were down to the bare bones.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostThat is why we need some more depth, to be honest it is not like we had a great deal of options yesterday. We did score an away goal, but it was bizarrely disallowed for a non-existent offside. Was that Rafa's fault too?Originally posted by el matador View Postif rafa had taken a more positive approach in the first leg and looked to score an away goal then I think we could have scored an away goal.
I knew they would score today and that we needed to get 3 to go through and without torres that's just not going to happen.
Season is over, now let the circus begin.

Unfortunately Stevie decided to stay at home and watch it on the box apparentlyOriginally posted by el matador View Postwe missed maxi and torres today.
The subs bench was pretty uninspiring and if you are carra or stevie you've gotta be thinking that this is it. We've got to do the job because there's no cavalry.

For 23 old he has very little experience and I can't fathom his role at the club to be honest, he is just getting the way of some of the younger players.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI've seen El Zhar in the reserves several times and he never looks good enough even at that level. You are talking about Babel I assume? I thought he showed his usual can't be arsed, casual, ineffective, running up blind alleys, picking out the wrong options, never looking like scoring performance.Originally posted by the rev leeroy brown View Posti wont have that. last night he was putting in real good crosses that a proper centre forward like torres would have eaten up.
as i've already said, he is the only player outside torres who gives the crowd a real buzz when he gets on the ball.
he was potent down the left and the centrre last night.
The only buzz he gives me is of anticipation - the anticipation that in a few seconds he'll totally **** up what he's doing. He rarely lets me down.
With a bit of luck we'll offload him in the summer

You are right of course, but maybe the Riera thing could have been handled better in hindsight, since it is have negative effects on the teams performances.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostThat is why we need some more depth, to be honest it is not like we had a great deal of options yesterday. 3 or 4 times he did something good followed by being ****.
its like he has some sort of auto-correction brain dysfucntion that when he does something good he has to do somehting ****....maybe its a form of OCD?_____________________________________
