They could have had 2 penalties, the second claim was stonewall.

This almost ends our miserable season, I'm just looking froward to the next campaign now, with the prospects of new management or whatever.
Can't agree with that at all.

Other teams have the same problems, but they adapt and overcome, we dont, we stick to the same old ideas. Neverton have had half of their team out injured but have still out scored us.

It is the tactics, not the players.
I don't agree. This season the players have been poor, add injuries to that. We never had the confidence to play with the same swagger as last season.

We started the season with a poor defensive despite scoring a lot - I remember a sequence of games when we won 6 on the trot and scoring 6 in one game. The we lost to Fiorentina and it was all bad as from then on. What happened? We were on high on confidence then everything went wrong.

        Rafas comments after the game.

        Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez:
"If you analyse the game, it was a fair result. In the first half, we were in control, although we didn't create chances. The final pass in the final third was the difference.

"In the second half, they pushed harder. We still had some good counter-attacks but again the final pass was the difference. It was a fair result."

        Against Wolves FFS.
Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

We were on a dismal run FFS, we were conceding goals at every set piece opportunity against us. Put it into context FFS.

            Me neither.

In regards how we played, we played fairly decent until Steve made that cardinal back pass. Until then Chavs were not doing anything productive.

What you have to remember is that teams set up differently against Everton compared to how they set up against Liverpool.

From where I was sat, it looked a blatant penalty, I don't know what angle you saw it from.. but from what i saw, none of the ball was got.. and there was contact with the man, so surely thats a foul?

I saw no contact on the replay, Kalou fell over his own feet.

He clipped himself (right foot on left) and lost his balance. Lucas didn't even touch him.

fair enough, i was sat behind it so when Lucas crossed him and he went down it looked like he had touched him

One good reason for him to go, no?

Fredo, if you wish more of the same next season, keep Rafa, it doesnt matter what you spend if the tactics suck. 6 years and we are as far away as ever.

I'm not so sure he wants to stay.

The pressure to produce (with or without cash boost) will continue to build and any failure, no matter how short lived, will be looked through a magnifying glass.

at least this awful season is effectively over now, can't wait for it to be left behind, and thankfully there is a WC to get my mind on other things.

I don't know what to think anymore, and I think myself and most other fans need to get the season a bit away before making up ones mind on the manager, players etc. because right now disappointment, anger etc. just clouds one mind.

It has been dreadful this season, and this game no different - can't remember feeling this disillusioned since Houlliers last season...

What i remember about last season as compared to this season is that last season we pinched so many points with very late goals.

We got ourselves out of jail so many times if I remember rightly.

That hasnt happened this year and that suggests to me that the team spirit has not been the same this year.

Maybe that is down to key elements missing, but something has changed.
Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield
