That is undoubtedly Pepe Reina, and I'm sure the official fans award will reflect that.
i cant believe they could have possibly given it to anybody else other than pepe.

obviously torres when he' played has been sensational but a season isnt just 30 odd games. i think masher has had a decent 2nd half to the season as has carra.

credit to lucas insua and ngog for standing up and playing around 100 games between them.

but pepe by a long shot.

Pepe, Lucas and Kuyt in my mind, in any order. The rest just haven't looked interested...if Mascher had shown in the first half of the season the commitment he showed later on, he'd be up there too, but for reasons unknown, he failed to shine early doors.

Made up for the lad. A great example to all proffessional players....and youngsters alike.

He probably got the award just because he was present. Is this an annual thing? Anyone know any previous winners?

There are 40,000 every other week who could run him close on that basis though.
              Ridiculous.

Sums up our season really if Kuyt was our player of the season. IMO (for what it's worth which probably is a lot) he is not good enough for LFC first team but ok for the bench

                  Could not agree more.

Pepe should have been the only choice for number # 1 player of the year. No one other came even close.

where does it say he was player of the year???

he won carlsberg 'Man of the year' from what i see which is fair enough.

It's like that **** player in your sunday league team who turns up every week and at the end of the season wins "clubman of the year"
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

This attitude of taking "effort and running" over quality is really alarming amongst our fans. Kuyt is nowhere near good enough for our first XI. Not questioning his attitude but overall, bar a few exceptions, his passing is generally poor, he's slow, can't tackle, can't go past a player and what I would describe as generally an "unintellegent" footballer. He constantly does the wrong thing. He has the annoying habit of conceding ridiculous fouls in dangerous areas knowing full well we can't defend free kicks for our lives. His finishing is atrocious. He very rarely finds the corner and most shots are straight at the keeper. Even the shots that go in are more often than not weird scuffed efforts. He's in the side because does what he's told by our control freak of a manager. I just don't get this. Reina by a ****ing mile IMO.

funny thing is for someone who really has very little talent he is amazingly effective. I dont know what his stats are but they cant be bad for a striker playing on the right.

How many assists and goals this season ?

I like Kuyt but noway should he be our player of the season.

As many have said in this thread - Pepe is our Player of the Year easily.

Followed by Mascherano, who after a poor start to the season, has been consistently good for us.

This time last season we had about 10 players as genuine contenders for Player of the Year...now we have 2 or 3.. Says it all doesn't it?

Well imo it's nice to see commitment being rewarded, ok yes, it's obvious he'll never be the 'best' player, but like i say...he sets a great example to all...and if those who do possess better skill worked as hard every game we'd be flying.

Imo Shanks would have loved him.
