Joint second-highest league scorer with Gerrard on 9, but has just one penalty to Gerrard's two. He also scored one goal in the CL and one goal in the Europa League, for a combined total of 11Originally posted by el matador View Postfunny thing is for someone who really has very little talent he is amazingly effective. I dont know what his stats are but they cant be bad for a striker playing on the right.
How many assists and goals this season ?
Only three assists this season so far, but last season, not only did he score as many league goals as Fatboy Rooney - 12 - he was credited with nine assists, two more than wonderboy
Not bad for a player seemingly so reviled by one or two pathetic specimens

We have more points than we got in our last season with Houllier (and our first season with Rafa) and more points already than we ever managed with Souness with more teams in the league (and there have been seasons when 68 points has got runners up spot.Originally posted by Taxi View PostKuyt!!!!
****ing hell, this just compounds the fact that this is possibly the worst season we've had since Souness, possibly worse.
Idiotic comment.
The fact that you are using this to attack Kuyt shows how pathetic you are.Last edited by Mattshark; 06-05-10, 06:14 PM.

I've got one of themOriginally posted by PTP View Postwhere does it say he was player of the year???
he won carlsberg 'Man of the year' from what i see which is fair enough.
It's like that **** player in your sunday league team who turns up every week and at the end of the season wins "clubman of the year"
...
...oh, right, the bit underlined

It has been a poor season though.
Not just our position, but the way we have been playing, especially after last season, when we were knocking four past every decent team in the league.
Kuyt had a great season last year, but has been poor this year. Same for everyone really. Mascherano had a really good second half to the season. Torres was great when he played (actually, thinking about it he was quite poor a lot of the time, but a poor Torres can still get a goal average that any other player would weep for).
To say Reina is our best player (a sentiment I think I agree with) tells us just how poor we have been out on the pitch. And I think it could be a bigger loss to lose Reina than say Gerrard or Torres, who are either getting on, or injury prone. I get the feeling that Reina is probably a big personality in the dressing room too. I can see him being a future vice captain, if we can convince him to stay.In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Nevermind vice captain, future captain. If comments that are attributed to him are true, he really understands Liverpool Football Club and will become a legend in his own right. PepeOriginally posted by Charly View PostIt has been a poor season though.

Granted, although I am not a big fan of keepers being captain, as they cant really do a captains job from that position.Originally posted by SimonNo7 View PostNevermind vice captain, future captain. Oh great. Last season counts does it! Yippee we're runners up then and not really seventh. This pathetic specimen's off to get pissed. Cheers, mate. What the mancs say is true after all. I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Personally Reina's who I'd vote for too..... but this general consensus is somewhat at odds with Morse's MOTM votes, which have Mascher absolutely running away with it. Interesting, not sure why that is.Originally posted by lickedlollipop View Postagree with ya: Pepe ReinaI could not dig, I dared not rob:

could be to do with the fact that kuyt is the face of Carlsbergs recent advertisement campaign. im not sure if thats the case all over the world but he was in the tv ads in australia, was he the face of any ads in england? i guess he could well have been the face of the asian ads if he was the face of the aussie ads... maybe he got the award because its good PR to have the face of their beer being the player of the year or whatever it was96 Never Forgotten

Because on single match based performances keepers always get screwed unless they make a string of wonder saves. Mascherano has been one of the few players who (at least post January) has obviously been doing their job to the expected standard and because his role doesn't depend much on anyone else to make him look good he will do well in these things when we are struggling as a team.Originally posted by MrMichael View PostPersonally Reina's who I'd vote for too..... but this general consensus is somewhat at odds with Morse's MOTM votes, which have Mascher absolutely running away with it.
