But then that's the reality. No point persisting with someone who won't accept it. It shouldn't be that eay, but it is.

Aye, which makes me think Roy Hodgson will get the job.
As he's shown at Fulham, he can get the best out of a smallish squad.

If we had big money to spend and were in the Champions League, i think the Board would be after a Hiddink or Van Gaal but such is the state of LFC i'd be shocked if we were after them kinds of Managers.

You say that, but no genuinely top class manager would accept those conditions. And neither should they.

Sounds preferable in a way. The bull**** isn't going anywhere unfortunately, and having a manager at war with the hierachy of the club is not sustainable. Ideaslly the yanks would be the ones making way, but that's just wishful thinking.

They will get a yes man who will be TOLD who is going to be sold. We are on a slippery slope to the bottom half of the table. There will be no Billionaire owner riding in to rescue us.

But will we the fans accept it, sitting in the stands watching Liverpool struggle against relegation fodder with a average manager on the sidelines.

No big ego/big name maybe. All depends on who gets the job. I was in favour of replacing raga with hodgson earlier in the year and nothing has happened to change my view in all honesty. If it were Grant, then obviously it's a different matter.

I'm not sure we can afford two pay offs - one to Rafa and one to the club of a new manager. In the current climate an 11th hour bid for Grant seems fairly logical.

If I was feeling conspiratorial I would suggest it would also explain the timing of this particular ****storm.

Sounds like we accepted it with a big name manager this season.

Interesting point. Depressing beyond belief, too.

I think Grant is a comparable quality manager to Hodgson to be honest. Certainly we could do far worse.

I think Hodgson was angling for the England job, but that may not be available now according to today's news, so maybe he'll be up for it now?

I can see Mark Hughes telling his agent to pick up the phone already.....

Yeah but no manager could succeed with no budget and having his best players sold.

Top managers are good enough to know they can make demands to counter this - lesser managers arent. And that's what we'll get, a lesser manager.

Even one who might not be massively high profile, but is quite good, will struggle to do anything with a squad that will keep having it's best players cherry picked and no funds to replace them.
