Yes, I know what you are saying, I just think it was either going to be the Americans who lost patience with rafa, or rafa with the situation. Once it became clear the money wasn't there, which is a pretty safe assumption, rafa was going to go one way or another. Talk of a compromise suggests this to me.

My initial point was that, although the situation is ****e, given the situation, a new manager may not be a bad thing.

From YNWA after someone said Mancs, Chelsea and Arsenal all want him to stay:

      stressederic, on 02 June 2010 - 11:29 PM, said:

I couldn't give two hairy scrotums what they want or think. I bet the Chelsea fans were just rolling around with laughter when we finshed above them the other season and kept denying Mourinho his European Cup final. I bet they could scarcely control their bladders.

No doubt the Arsenal fans have had to take 15 minutes away from staring at laughing cow triangles without ever actually getting to eat the sodding cheese just to grace us with their informed opinions. The fact that we've outperformed Arsenal for the past 5-6 years must have been a source of never ending mirth for them.

Obviously the United fans are still dry cleaning their underwear from the hilarity of getting turned over 4-1 at Old Trafford and that until they managed to spawn that win against Villa it looked as if their title challenge was going to become a clown car and fall to bits on national television.

God I'm so glad that we've been able to discover what such oracles have to say about the state of football at the moment. It's made my f***ing night.

Under these parasites, it wont matter who the new manager is, our situation is hardly likely to improve.

In years gone by, i loved the transfer window as it was exciting times, but now, i just want the ****er to slam shut as soon as possible, with as many of our best players as possible still here.

"Milking us dry" at this point serves no purpose, it just further devalues the asset they're wanting to sell.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them actually cough up some money this window to help them move closer the 600m valuation they're after.

If we can keep Torres, Gerrard and Masher then spend 20m + what we sell as reported I think we won't be looking that bad.

Depends who we get in as manager but.

Feeling very meh about this to be honest. I see the need, but very hard not to be sad to see him go.

I'm not as outraged at the speculation, then I am at the manner of all the club's affairs being aired (leaked) out to the press. If performance is the reason for the sacking, then it's only fair that a few members of the squad should follow.

Do you really think that is likely though. I don't.

Also - I think if Rafa goes to somewhere with money Mascherano will follow him.

don't want any of them. I'd take Kenny in a flash but I just think he's been out of the game for too long.

How utterly depressing. I really feel for Rafa right now, he's been treated absolutely atrociously and we've lost our last friend on the board. What have we got now? A Chelsea fan, two American conmen and Purslow......if it wasnt so unbelievably bad it'd be hilarious! I mean how can a Chelsea fan come to the decision to scak Rafa!??

                          Alan Curbishley here we come......

who knows what will happen in terms of a replacement, or how that works out. Unknowable really. Always like that with change though, for the better or worse? I am reasonably happy to throw the dice. Just a pitty the game is being fixed so there's no way to really win.
