I'll say it again - I think we've lost our only friend in the club.

Just a matter of time before the Mancs over take us and all of a sudden I am not panicking at the thought. They just deserve it. They seem to have learned from us on how to run a club and improved upon it. We seem to have gone backwards.

There is a simple reason why we have not won the league in the last 20 years. We have had self serving morons absolutely devoid of vision running the club.

Considering the fact that Purslow negotiated the contract which provided Rafa with a payout of 16 million, money which we did not have. Shudn't he also get the sack.

Top managers are good enough to know they can make demands to counter this - lesser managers arent. And that's what we'll get, a lesser manager.

Even one who might not be massively high profile, but is quite good, will struggle to do anything with a squad that will keep having it's best players cherry picked and no funds to replace them.

Well it sounds as though making demands hasn't got rafa the top manager very far. Still possible that this move may decrease the chances of our best players leaving, we just don't really know. It's not about making demands, but it's about what a manager has the right to expect - eg, the right to decide which players to sell and which not to, the right to expect a transfer budget befitting of a club our size, and the right to expect proper support from above.

Rafa's not being given any of that, and no top class manager worth his salt would take a position in that situation.

The point i am making, is that no genuinely class manager will accept it.

I'd rather have Rafa there making it as hard as possible for Hicks to keep destroying us, than some nodding dog who's a worse manager and will also happily kiss Hicks' arse while he milks the club dry.

Just thinking that they won't risk someone new to the EPL so they'll go for someone with the experience of runnning a top club in England.
