Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

So a week after Hicks declared that Rafa would have a substantial transfer budget they offer him a £3M payoff.
Hmmm, backup your lies, I mean statement, and give Rafa a decent transfer kitty of say 40 or 50m this summer when you pockets are empty, or get shot of the manager for £3m and bring in a new yes man or even better leave the appointment of the new manager until its pretty much too late in the pre season for a new manager to bring in new players....just a thought.Play Ball!!!!!!!

I'm a bit confused mate - my recollection of Thommo's temporary stint in charge, is that he did really well.Originally posted by MrMichael View PostMuch though I love Phil, I also remember what we were like when he was in charge while he was standing in for Houllier. It wasn't good.
Having said that, at least he knows and loves the club, unlike most of H&G's shortlist I would imagine.
I doubt Thommo would come in and work for those two parasites anyway.

Part of me hopes he digs his heels in but the other part is conscious that any increase in payoff will impact transfer budget.
He cant win and so i think he'll leave whilst the Inter job is still on the table.
To be frank, if I were him the current Serie A and European Champions is not an unattractive option and his style of football is especially suited to Italian football.

Why on earth would Rafa take this deal? If he takes it, he's accepting that he has failed and i would have thought Rafa is a very proud man. I still think he's the man to lead us forward

Pride aside, from a financial point it makes no sense to him either. If the board want him out 100% he'll get much more than 3m...I think the fans of Liverpool are smart enough to realise he has been ****ed around and would not mind him sticking up for himself."These stories have as much relation to the truth as an egg to a chestnut." - Racing Santander President Francisco Pernia

Yeah, Thommo did brilliantly - first English side to win in Kiev, ever! Manager of the month in Nov that year.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI'm a bit confused mate - my recollection of Thommo's temporary stint in charge, is that he did really well.

Think there's a lot to be said for an internal promotion - just not sure who is the best candidate. Sammy Lee's stint at Bolton doesn't fill me with confidence.Last edited by tsb; 03-06-10, 09:36 AM.

We went on an amazing run when Thommo was in charge.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI'm a bit confused mate - my recollection of Thommo's temporary stint in charge, is that he did really well.

I think it was as much by accident as design though. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Thommo did well in that he got the results. The style of play left a lot to be desired, and that was compared to Houlliers.
I think he did well because he knew it was a short term thing, and was all about getting the best out of the existing squad. He wasn't needed for transfers or developing youngsters, it was all about the results. In a way he was an ideal caretaker manager, I just have doubts about him doing the role over a longer term.

He was in charge for a significant part of the season where we finished second under Houllier. The results we had while he was in charge were good, I can't remember the performances to be honest.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI'm a bit confused mate - my recollection of Thommo's temporary stint in charge, is that he did really well.

I think you're right, I can't see him working for the current ownersThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Quite normal stuff for your employer to offer you less than your gardening leave states and claim poverty, if he accepts it will because he has had a belly full of these lying cunts and lets face it a club in disaray even before these two douchebags turned up.Originally posted by tommyg View PostWhy on earth would Rafa take this deal?
