****in hell. hard to know what to think at the moment. it's probably best for everyone and for the man's own sanity. i mean we've all thought that he's lost it a bit from time to time and his very public arguments probably didn't help. see you in 48 hours fredo!

A simple, amicable meeting should have taken place instantly after the Hull game and announced on the official website that he was gone.

Instead we just drag it out till June and theres still no official announcement, the lack of boardroom nous is frightening. Man Utd might be in debt up to their eyeballs aswell but at least they have a stable boardroom and actual plans for the future, we seem to live day by day. We cant go on like this.

It's 10AM in the UK and if i am not mistaken not a ****ing word of clarification / denial from the total ******s who run our club, it's a ****ing disgrace. Even the website that is there to "inform " fans is as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike !!!

Something i have been against up to now is some form of boycott but these *******s need to be shown who really own the club, they need hurting in the pocket so unless there is something positive soon every fan should withold financial support until they come clean.

They take us fans for granted.

Pride aside, from a financial point it makes no sense to him either. If the board want him out 100% he'll get much more than 3m...I think the fans of Liverpool are smart enough to realise he has been ****ed around and would not mind him sticking up for himself.
Because the alternative is staying at a club where he is fully aware that he has no support from his own board, has no chance of receiving the kind of transfer budget needed to revitalise an ailing squad, has every decision he makes subjected to agenda-fuelled scrutiny from media dullards, and where there is a real chance that the team's biggest talents will be sold as a means of servicing debt repayments.

Can you imagine the reaction he'd face if he held tight, stayed on as manager and then lost the first game of the new season? It'd be a bloodbath.

[keegan] I would love it, love it [/keegan] if whoever bought the club then went and got Rafa back.

Was mentioned earlier in the thread, there's definitely a case for constructive dismissal here were the leaks worked back to the club. Hypothetical, but highlights the shoddy manner in which the club is acting.

There is another issue here - either Gerrard and Torres have been campaigning against the manager or CP etc. have leaked the idea that they have been to the press. In the latter case you can't imagine they would be overwhelmingly pleased by how things have come out.

Ballague and the Guardian have consistently said that the futures of Torres and Gerrard weren't linked to that of Rafa - but to whether we have transfer funds. The fact Rafa has been sacked for wanting transfer funds could imply that we will be looking at losing both

It's all speculation mate, 'Ballague and the Guardian said' therefore really isn't worth the . Other speculation has linked Gerrard with wanting Rafa gone. Who knows, but it looks like we'll find out soon enough.

I think the site had a miny melt down .

"Sacked" (Daily Mirror), "Rafa Out" (The ...), "Rafa's £3m Kop Off" (Daily Star), "Rafa is Out" (Daily Mail), "End of Road for Rafa" (Daily Express), "Benitez on the Brink" (Daily Telegraph), "Liverpool offer Benitex £3m to quit" (Guardian), "Benitez set to quit" (The Independent). With the World Cup just over a week away, there is only one story dominating the back pages of Thursday's newspapers.

It is claimed that player power is responsible for Benitez's potential departure from Anfield.

Liverpool's wish list to replace Benitez is thought to include ex-Manchester City manager Mark Hughes, Fulham's Roy Hodgson and former Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink.

Inter Milan are now thought to be monitoring Benitez's situation and are lining up the Spaniard to replace Jose Mourinho who this week joined Real Madrid.

I could accept Rafa leaving even though it's been handled terribly if H&G ensured that the youth and reserve set ups remain untouched, we are starting to sign little signs of producing players, real players at a level above Spearing, Guthrie, Warnock (at the time he left etc...)
My big fear is that as H&G couldn't give a flying **** about the club we'll have turmoil behind the scenes at these levels and it'll **** us up for the next 10-15 years
