It's all speculation mate, 'Ballague and the Guardian said' therefore really isn't worth the . Other speculation has linked Gerrard with wanting Rafa gone. Who knows, but it looks like we'll find out soon enough.

Obviously it is all speculation to a point but I don't see anything positive coming out of this at all. I think the whole situation is worth a - I haven't seen a single positive angle to this at all.

He's been out of the game for far too long, a manager that won the league with money, or by inheriting a great side, without either, and facing sides with both, i don't see him as being a realistic choice, unless the motives for such a choice are owner influenced.

I'd agree 100% if it was a full time appointment, but not as caretaker.

However why would we need a caretaker when we're in the off season? Sounds a bit strange to me.

So Kenny has been out of the game for a while, but he has not been hibernating has he? Kenny and Rushie know the club better than anyone else and they know what the fans expect better than anyone else. They are winners and the very least they would do is get Liverpool playing the way Liverpool should, i.e. pass and move. Give me that any day of the week.

And with the right backing, who knows what they may achieve.

After Rafa subbed Torres in the league with Ngog coming on when we needed a win both Gerrard and Torres reacted with disbelief, I think both of them were becoming too frustrated with Rafa's decisions. I love Rafa but to be fair Rafa has managed to alienate many players like Xabi, Riera and Benni to name but few.

The way I remember that though was that with Ngog on we made a lot more chances. I really don't think players thinking they run things is the future.

Xabi and Benayoun could have been handled better I agree. Riera has had a long reputation of being a moody ******* and if he, as reported, struck a youth player and was training badly I don't see anything wrong with his treatment.

I'm a bit torn on the Rafa staying or leaving issue but I think the handling of the matter by the owner is appalling and Rafa deserves anything but this treatment.

In fact the nature of the sacking leads me to think they are having to force him out because he is fighting for the good of the club not for himself. He could leave and take a good job in Italy or even Spain soon, with more backing and an easier ride.

I've never been torn on the Rafa issue - he should be staying in my book.

Sure, it would be a risk, but I don't think he's be doomed to failure. Don't see why he couldn't improve on last season. Expectations would be lower, players may react well etc. Does the idea of seeing kenny in the dugout at Anfield give you at least a semi, even with the doubts?

No real difference between a caretaker and somebody who's appointed on a short term basis e.g 1/2 years.

Kenny seems to be the obvious choice, he just gets a payrise. Most other names on the list would require a compensation payment.
