That's one reason I'm So mad at them Zimbo - I Hate their lies, theft and Grand Larceny from our club enough but their slyness? Now THAT just makes me want to help them breathe a little (via a bullet hole or two in the throat) more than Anything else!!!! I REALLY hate them!!! My son was 1 this year and I'm 32 - I don't think my son will Have the club to grow up with now, support and enjoy - At least, not in the way I once did. It's That which angers me beyond ALL reason more than Anything else about those two b*stards and I Really can't express just How much I Hate and Despise them both. I'll Gladly see them dead if that's what it takes to rid us of them. They Deserve it and then some..........
NB Go easy with me on the Quote Button!! I've never used it before today so Am still rather getting used to it.
NNB In view of that; Just HOW do you delete the first post if you've used the quote button to ahem 'decorate' the second one?Last edited by Redshadow; 03-06-10, 02:15 PM.

seen a cracking post from a QPR fan on another forum, talks more sense than some of our fans

Their interest was in having a team challenge for the top 4 last season.... yet they spent how much? Barely £5mil was it net, i'm not sure. Oh and then in January it was really tight....how much spent? Nothing....
No guarentee of money from players sales being reinvested into the club. This isn't because they don't trust Benitez (which they may not), but because they don't have any money! If Benitez was willing to bend over and agree he didn't need money and no guarentee of reinvestment of sales, then perhaps they'd have kept him on. They don't need the scrutiny and turmoil of sacking the manager do they?
Why would they pay £3mil to get rid of him you ask? Well for one, he probably earns more than that in a year - and they can replace him Kenny for much less so they are up on the deal...Rafa was unlikely to walk with a £16mil contract as a matter of principle, indeed managers such as Curbishley/Keegan have successfully sued for compensation when players have been sold behind his back if they had agreed that it would not happen (i'm not sure how many guarentees Benitez has over transfers). So paying compo does not necessarily suggest that they have some secret money and lack of faith in him was the main reason for this - it is surely more likely they simply see his position as untenable because they have no money to meet his demands, and need someone who IS willing to bend over for them (masquerading as the 'best interests' of the club)...
As for Hodgson, his side finished below Stoke and Blackburn last season, and could barely buy a point away from home. To be fair to Benitez you need to look a bit further than last season. Teams do have bad seasons - Everton have had a few where they struggled with relegation battles but stuck with Moyes and bounched back. Obviously you can see the arguments for replacing Benitez, but only if you've got a top class manager to replace him. Which top manager would touch Liverpool with a bargepole, and even if they did who could they afford? In fairness i see Liverpool as 7th favourites for a CL place next season regardless but does this news make it more or less likely? Much less imo... Even if you could get Hodgson, which you can't, that squad is far too thin for a top four challenge. It is a very top heavy squad, the wage bill is at breaking point due to financial strains, and recent new contracts keeping the best players there mean you probably can't even sign many squad players to fill the gaps!
As for keeping Gerrard and Torres, really, if they come back to Pool and Rafa is gone, Real Madrid are knocking, no CL football - even if the club wants to keep them they may simply decide the want to leave. For Gerrard in particular, the main reason he'd stay is how difficult he'd find it to leave. Well if he ever wants a move this summer will be one where he's got a chance, he's basically got half a door open, and few would blame him if he left now (he could probably even argue that the money is good for the club).Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

If Rafa is getting pushed because of performance, then he should go along with some squad member's, who I watched throughout the season, not give everything for our cause!

Is it true that player power played a part in offering Rafa the severence package? Thursday June 3, 2010 14:36 Kamal

Hello Kamal,
This myth is being perpetuated to ridiculous levels now. I spoke to a very senior Liverpool player today, one who has been outspoken in his criticism of the owners, and he told me the Liverpool dressing room was no different to any other. There are players who don't like Benitez. there are others who do like him and there are those who change their opinion of the manager according to variables such as whether or not they are in the team and results.

Thursday June 3, 2010 14:38The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
