Rafa Benitez Leaves Liverpool

Can I just get a sense from people as to what they are upset about. Is it:
a) That Benitez is leaving.
b) The way it is being done.
I know that they are somewhat related, but is there any sense in which concerns over (b) are clouding (a). To be honest, and obviously I don't want to start a firestorm, I am not unhappy -- or have mixed feelings at best -- about (a) and I am surprised, given previous discussions on here that this is not a more widely shared opinion.
I ask this in the spirit of genuine inquiry.

By forcing the issue you mean being party to Rafa being forced out the club and potentially selling our best player in Torres to the team he (MB) has supported for over 50 years.Originally posted by darkstar View Post
He's RBS's man, and is going to force the issue.
So I guess we'll see Boughton as a hero even after he goes to the Chelsea player of the season awards and we lose Torres to them hey.
Forcing the issue by using the money from Torres to lower the level of debt and lower RBS risk levels.
Yeah he's a real heroThe King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Absolutely both for me. I can't see any manager we are going to be able to get as anything other than a downgrade on Rafa. I fear our whole staff structure (something Rafa has worked very hard at putting into place) will fall apart as a consequence of him leaving. And I also think he has been treated like ****.Originally posted by Philosophia View PostCan I just get a sense from people as to what they are upset about. Is it:

I'm not saying he is perfect, not neccessarily saying he's the right man for the job but right now with the owners we have Rafa is the glue just about sticking everything together.
How is downgrading the manager going to pursude the likes of Torres, Mascher and Gerrard to stay??
It won't, they'll be a firesale with the money paying off the debt allowing the cancerous cunts H&G to stay in charge for longer because they would have brought down the level of debt to a more respectable figure.
We'll also become a selling club and a club that none of the worlds top players really consider playing for anymore.
It really is armageddon, it goes further than are you pro or anti Rafa, he has balls and stands up to the owners, does anyone really believe they are going to appoint another manager who is going to publically slate them time and time againThe King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Rashid never gives up does heComment From Rashid Rashid: ]
You probably won't answer this Tony like the last time; but 19 defeats, 11 in the league, with a team that finished 2nd last season... spent £17m on a crock and another £17 on a right back we didn't need more than we needed a striker, ale house football, and losing to teams who spent 1/10 of what we have over the past 6 years - and he didn't deserve the sack? LFC fans have "lost one battle"? - does Rafa pay you to write articles for him Tony? Thursday June 3, 2010 14:55 Rashid
14:57 Tony Barrett:
Hope you've got a good lawyer Rashid, accusing a journalist of taking backhanders is a clear libel. Particularly as at no point have I claimed that the Liverpool fans have lost a battle with Benitez going. I did say he has lost a battle. Your other criticisms are valid.

I meant forcing the issue, in the selling on the club. RBS and G&H are at loggerheads over the club's value, and RBS will force the sale at their value.Originally posted by The Birdman View PostBy forcing the issue you mean being party to Rafa being forced out the club and potentially selling our best player in Torres to the team he (MB) has supported for over 50 years.

If it's M O'N, i think there could be a Liverpool legend in the making. Steady management, serious passion, good with players. If he can steady us and get us playing to our potential again, see out 6-9 months and be ready for new investment, he could be the next manager to make the step up into the bigtime.Felching ≠ Gerbilling
