To suggest that it wasnt a bad season is something even fredo wouldnt do.
    FFS, try reading the context.

Operation questioned whether it was that bad. I was saying it was bad but there was a danger of overstating it.

I know it's a complex argument but there we go, sometimes life is like that.

The bit that EVERYONE is missing is that without a manager who fights to stop Braughton selling Torres to Chelsea???
Who fights to stop Mascher and Gerrard leaving and the combined £130 being paid against the debt keeping RBS happy and allowing the Yank ****ers to stay in charge for longer.

Who?? ****ing answer me that, the Chairman and CEO have got rid of the only obstacle stopping them from selling our best players to appease RBS and H&G.

Far too many people post on here without any concept or understanding of the real world which is there right but I can't put everyone on ignore.

Whether you like Rafa or not this imo will go down as the worst day in our clubs history (aside from the obvious tragedy's of Hillsbrough & Hysel) the lunatics are well and truely in charge of the asylam now the warden has been sacked.
This is what worries me the most. I'm sad Rafa is gone and still think he's the right man for the job, but regardless of results, his departure could signal a summer of carnage for LFC. I really hope I'm wrong, but I don't trust the yank cunts to give up the opportunity to strip the club of a few assets and ine their pockets before they go.

Even in the circumstances, yes it was that bad.

        We're not Everton.

I really find such claims to high-mindedness laughable and irritating in equal measure. So leaving aside your high principles...

It's a straw man argument. No one is saying we should be happy with 7th, or, in my view, even 4th in normal circumstances.

But what you seem to think is realistic to expect of a club which is a third of a billion in debt with owners at war with each and senior executives at war with everyone else is very different from how I'd see it.

You even manage to undermine your own argument by referring to what Rafa would have expected when he joined what was, if you care to remember, not a club £350m in debt and nominally owned by a couple of snake oil salesmen.

Do you deliberately put the worst spin on things just for the sake of argument? Wait, what am I saying, of course you do...

It was bad. Bloody awful to watch and a very disappointing seventh, without even a final, let alone a trophy.

It almost wasn't, as I said.

The fact it almost wasn't doesn't change the fact it was but it should temper our thinking somewhat.

                Rafa had to go....

....as two key players said they would look to leave if Rafa stayed on when asked if happy at the club

                          Gutted.

As I said earlier, this is no way to run a football club; massive debt, running on emotion instead of strategy, getting rid of Rafa without having a better plan in place... it's all amateur bull**** and beneath Liverpool FC. Say what you want about Rafa, he had class, he was a very good manager and no name on the table or being proposed is close to his level. If we had the opportunity to bring in a world beater, great-- but no matter what, Liverpool is downgrading to satisfy the ego of the management who did not like being scrutinized by the manager. I am ashamed of them for doing this to Liverpool.

Wherever Rafa lands, I will have found a new team to support. He will always be a manager of the supporters, of the people. He was ours. YNWA Rafa. You will be missed.

                            Sure. I don't think we're that far apart...for once.

We're still only talking about one season though.

I would imagine the midfielder is SG after all his sulking this season. Not sure who the defender could be?

That's what I'm concerned about, I think our most valuable assets are on their way - a new manager will be offered a paltry amount to replace Torres, Gerrard and Mascherano.

Rafa had his faults, but I admire his stubbornness and his fearlessness - he's one of us.
