Those players who let him down, those players who are better player today due to his methods and coaching, owe him a big apology or even those players who hate is guts. I know some are away with their countries for the world cup but come out and say something, happy or unhappy just say it be a man you ******s.

On a slight tangent - now he is out of a job, I hope the BBC sign Rafa up as a world cup pundit/analyst as I think he would be exceptional.

        Why?

And how do you know they're not, in private, as it should be?

God, I hope not. He'll come accross as a really nice and funny guy and depress us all even further.

6 Years, no EPL title, a **** load of money pissed away, sounds like a good move to me.

It's now up to G&H to get the right manager and spend some cash.

Anyway, ManU's net spend is artificially low due to the insane Ronaldo fee. Chelsea spent a ridiculous amount building that squad and so recently haven't had to go as mad to maintain it, and Arsenal, well, Wenger is a bit special. Go on an Arsenal forum though and see what their fans think about his lack of spending. And anyway, they also utterly robbed Citeh, £50m for Adebayour and Toure?

Fact is that in the last 4 transfer windows our net spend has been approximately 0. Some calculations even have us in profit over that period. And we most certainly won't be splashing the cash this summer, that'll make it 5 windows. Given that we were coming from a level considerably below that of Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea (the only sides to win the league in the last decade), there is no way any manager could genuinely expect to maintain a real challenge to those sides under the financial constraints which have been in place for the last 2 years.
                But...but...but....
                3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Your kidding if you think he hasn't wasted a **** load of cash, with the exception of Torres he did no better than Houllier (minus maybe Hyypia) on the transfer front. Rafa would go out and spend +15m on a striker put him on the wing and wonder why he failed, sell him off, do the same the following season.

He went out and brought players with off field issues like Pennant and Bellamy, they would fail and he would have to sell.

Under Rafa we still lost out on signing players, youth never developed etc.

We also have had sfa come through the youth ranks since Evan's departure.

It was time for a change regardless who was in charge.

He made some bad signings for sure but never in a million years has he "wasted a **** load of cash". Do you work for a tabloid newspaper?

Torres, Reina, Mascherano, Alonso, Agger.... yeah what a waste of money.

And he's completely overhauled the youth system in the last couple of years, after he realised that how it was previously was not really producing the desired results. Did you really expect instant results? These things take time. Look at all the other top teams producing talent after talent from their youth teams... oh wait.

So wasting 20M on Keane isn't a **** load of cash? Wasting 24M on a RB isn't a **** load of cash? How can a manager f up twice on 20M+ signings?

Who is this mystery £24m right back you speak of?

Keane was a bad signing but he didn't waste £20m did he. He got at least £12m of it back. So if you're gonna have a go at least get it right FFS.

I thought it was generally accepted that Keane was not his choice and we didn't spend £24m on a right back so your point doesn't seem particularly strong.

                              Who was that then?

And I think you'll find Ferguson has ****ed up on at least a couple of circa £20m signings (Veron, the forever injured Hargreaves to name but two).

He got most of the money back on Keane and if you are talking about Johnson I though he cost 17M and he has been and will be valuable IMO.
