Well bearing in mind Reina is the only one who has made a formal statement on the matter, any lists regarding which players did or didn't like Rafa would be plain conjecture and an unquestioning belief of what has been said in the media. As if anyone would do that though eh.

well after all that happened i think that it was clear he didnt have support and therefore couldnt really take the team forward.

Let's try and have a reasonable discussion, why do you think Rafa didn't have support, do you think the players support him?

Just cos it wasn't in the papers on on the news doesn't mean he didn't fight. I'd guess that might be why he didn't leave at the end of the season and its taken until now for it to happen

FFS poor Rafa with his huge payout and probably very little fight to keep his job.

For someone that is so loved, he sure didn't seem to put up much of a fight given how much money was due to him.

Just listening to Ballague, and what he was very clear about was that Rafa tried to stay at Liverpool, "till the last minute he tried", said Ballague, "but he was not allowed".

why didnt rafa have support well here we go. something to do with that huge debt on the club.

Also he had power as he was popular with the fans. obviously this fell after last season but because of his power they didnt want him at the club (the board and owners that is) they also knew that supporters dont always look at why didnt we do well and everything would be at rafas door in the eyes of some fans so its a good time to get rid from their point of view. also done when players have gone to the world cup and rafa is on holiday.

not all the players would have supported him. his approach which many see as a weekness and i am inclined to agree was that he wasnt as much of an arm round hte shoulder manager as some others. (though it doesnt do capello much harm does it) i would argue tht some players do support him.

I can't believe that people here are actually trying to converse with oldschool in a sensible manner, it's clear he's deluded and just wants to try to get on people's nerves. Why bother wasting the time and energy.

I don't really like or trust what Ballague has to say, but I believe that he did, I'm really happy with what Rafa has shown over the years. I really hope he goes to Inter or another job that he deserves where the board will back him and he can show what a good manager he really is. Even if he does I doubt some people will appreciate how much he gave this club. It's easy to point the finger after a poor last season but the club has improved significantly.

Because they all have their own agenda - to sell more papers / get more viewers. This makes them biased in what and how they report stories. If there was such a thing as a completely unbiased media then i would pay attention to it. As there isn't, I take anything I read with a pinch of salt until I see something confirmed by the club / whoever.

This is what I am talking about, last year was his only year he made a profit, every other year it was net spend. The one year he had net profit doesn't even get close to his net spend over 6 years.

I think its a bit tasteless to be ragging on poor oldschool as much. You dont need to agree with him but I thought resorting to name calling was something that was frowned on in general. I'm sure most are sad Rafa is gone but I hardly think thats an excuse to go all lynch mob. He makes some fair points so not everything he says is crap. This is the sort of reaction I'd expect at rawk if you said Rafa has small testicles.
