Not being funny or trivialising what they went through as I know soldiers can't pick the wars they are told to fight in, but you picked a couple of bad ones there to mention.
Agree mate. My grandfather and uncle were both in Vietnam and i have had family who served in Iraq for the US Navy. Don't let the action of 1 ****ing idiot make you think we all feel the same. I am from US decent and am proud of it.
Anyway the issue of the flag burning is some what getting in the way of the issue of the two cunts ruining our great club.
Which is exactly the reason the ****s shouldnt have done it,it sidetracks people away from dealing with the real issue which is getting them ****ers out of the club.
High emotions or not some people really are just stupid as evidenced by the number of brand new jerseys on display at a protest against the owners
People will be wandering round Anfield every night, thinking it's a very poor turnout.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
As an American supporter, I wasn't bothered by the flag burning because I know it was done by naive people who are outraged by the actions of the American owners; I don't think anyone was advocating that American supporters are any less outraged about Rafa leaving with no financial support for the summer, the stream of lies from the owners and the dismal financial state of the club. I do think this is par for the course for the people involved however as they cannot seem to get out of their own way to craft a meaningful message. You can see in the previous article that the head of SOS is the spokesman for this protest, so whether they organized it or not, they are seen as being the spokesmen.
It's really just theater in the end, but its dumb to alienate your friends and fellow supporters, people who love the club and the game as much as you do, in order to make some inarticulate point about Tom Hicks, who is clearly a scumbag businessman of the highest order.
Anyway, I understand taking abuse on here because we're Americans, it's usually fine and I believe fully in the value of free speech and people's right to protest in this way, I just think these folks are particularly dumb for not having something more meaningful to say and doing this under the name of Bill Shankly.
The American flag represents me and my fellow LFC supporters here in the USA as much as it does Tom Hicks, so you would think someone affiliated within the "supporters group" might think twice about doing something stupid like that, but again, its par for the course for this group.
