I Know this MIGHT be controversial but I have my own idea here regarding this little speech of our idiot of a Sports Minister; To begin; Well, as PaulG said earlier - It was quite Clearly part of a PLANNED speech by him. I'm not sure but I've a Horrible feeling it could be part of the beginnings of some sort of attack by the Tories on the whole 'Justice' campaign aimed at undermining the very IDEA that Only the police/Government organisation of football grounds was to blame and re-establishing the idea first released by the Tories at the time that fan violence was part of the cause - with the Ultimate aim of maybe stopping the Final unveiling of the real Truth of what occurred that day or at least FAR lessening the damage it could do and reducing it's effect dramatically.
WHY would they do this? Well I Think it is because If THEY had to do said inquiry and releasing of the truth into public domain then they would effectively be condemning a former TORY government and I think they are FAR to arrogant and blinkered in their ways to do THAT. Hence I believe they are somehow Trying to re-establish the idea that FANS were to blame, to deflect blame from their OWN government of the past, to get their own back on a class of people (i.e. Us and OUR fans) that they CLEARLY hate and who have been attacking them for the past 2 decades (often very publicly) and to protect the police from South Yorkshire Police Force who may have had a 'Quiet' Word about NOT being abandoned by THIS government as they were the previous one maybe? The Tory Governments always DID cosy up to the police no and maybe that is part of this again?
But overall yes, I agree with PaulG - I think it's a deliberate speech by the Sports Minister and might JUST be PART of an openly orchestrated campaign by the New Government to if not openly attack the cause for 'Justice' then to at least FORCE it onto the backburner and thus avoid exposing their predecessors errors in organisation (leaving fans to be herded through stadia like animals in the 80's) and those of their great allies the police to attack. I wonder to if the near Constant appearances of that odious CREATURE Mckenzie recently on TV (ESP' the BBC) and the odd jokes about 'unruly Scouse fans' in soaps like Eastenders down the years SINCE 1989 have emboldened them sufficiently to do this as I don't think they'd have done it say a year or two ago. But basically? I believe the Tories are trying to cover THEIR and the Polices rears against a blame for Hillsborough that they RICHLY deserve and have spent Far to long avoiding................
