I think you are being unfair. The way these things tend to work is that the parties that express an interest that is seen to be legitimate, serious and credible are given access to the books and records so that they can study the possible acquisition more closely. Broughton ghas made it clear that several paprties have in effect shown a serious interest. He also knows what the timetable would normally be for completion. That is why he has said what he has.

Knowing how therse things work and how a man like him cannot afford to misrepresent the position, I actually drew huge comfort from what he said, because it was far more explicit than I had expected.

The fact that he is a chelsea fan is an irrelevance. He is a professional and will not want to damage his reputation.

Totally agree. People questioning Broughton don't really understand the rules of engagement in business. He's done very little wrong in my opinion (apart from sanctioning Rafa's departure) and made some very encouraging noises in his interview on the offal.

Come on, he thinks a sale is feasible by 31st August - **** this transfer window it was the next ten I was worried about. Gives me great comfort, his comments.
