How come no one bares any resentment to Benayoun over this? He left us for a rival.

If Torres did this the forum would go mental. Is it just because Benayoun isn't as good a player?

                Yes.
                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Well he's not breaking our hearts is he? Its like a **** friend leaving for someone else, as compared to your missus doin the same.

                    The perfect simile.

Fair enough, although the thought of Benayoun as a "**** friend" is a little disturbing. I still think he's getting off lightly.

Well, he is an Isreali after all.

Benayoun was a good player while he was here, I think he should appreciate what he did for us and remember the special moments he provided, i.e RM in the CL and vs Fulham winner in the 93rd minute

It's inverted anti-Semitism. Which is probably worse than actual anti-Semitism. Saying anything at all is a mindfeeled.

last week Purslow told us in the press that nobody would leave without the new managers say so.

this week were told Benny is leaving cos Rafa said so.

Now maybe Roy did agree to it too but still a bit contradictory there Chris not to mention snidey for blaming it on Rafa. How many more will Rafa be blamed for?
