But he's a loon. Does't have the stomach for the fight. I'd call him a bottler

Absolutely. Love the formation but cannot see Gallas in it. Better LB and I'd be a happy camper

Quote " Hodgson is also ready to target Wigan's Honduran left-back Maynor Figueroa, 27, who would cost around £6million.

I don't know much about this lad but anyone other than Gallas would get my sign of approval

FWIW I would want Gallas nowhere near the club - he's ageing, disruptive and never a left back.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

He's likely to be disruptive, he sulks and doesn't he want to play at centre back rather than fullback?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think 4-4-2 can be a real option next season for the vast majority of games, if we can get a couple of wingers in. Arda would be amazing, but even if the money isn't there, SWP for example is being mooted for a £6m transfer, so if he's available, and "assuming" he's English, then he'd be a very good option for Roy, and the Joe rumours are hotting up so lets hope.

Also, Mascherano is clearly wanting out, and as Carra said if someone doesn't want to be here, then show them the door, so as much as I feel we need him for one more season atleast, mabye Roy will decide to sell him. This one transfer that will drag on me thinks. IF he does go, a Stevie and Aqua partnership in CM? Probably can work vs lesser sides at home, but in truth we'd need to get a new DM, unless Roy wants to just have Lucas, which probably isn't the best of ideas. Theres alot of decent DMCs out there, likes of Cambiasso, Banega, Melo etc. I'd go for Banega, apparently available for
£8m and is young, and would offer more in attack than what Javier did for us. But hey if Mascher decided to stay then I'll still be happy with that.

i really think that 442 is the option for next year as well to be honest.....

i was in the RCDNW camp but i am looking forward to seeing what kind of impact Hodgson has on some of the players - including gerrard and torres. Cast your mind back to when Rafa took over from Houllier - we'd have gladly taken 2m a-piece for Riise and Finnan (i think we actually accepted an offer from spurs of something like 1.7m for finna but he wanted to stay) but under a new manager they were like different players for us and turned out to be great.....

clean slates for everyone and we could start the season well. If we start the season well (with good results against arsenal, citeh and united) and you never know.....

if i was the gaffer, i would go to each player in a one-to-one meeting, look them in the eye, and ask them do they want to play for Liverpool football club. I suspect that Mascherano would say no. If we could get 25m upwards for him, then i would click "Sell" because one of the reasons for our crappy start last year was him throwing his toys out of the pram - and we can't afford that again.....

Players like Insua, Lucas, Babel, Kuyt should all be given a fresh start. So should riera if he wants to play for LFC. This team / group of players has a big point to prove next season. And when the likes of Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea (i haven't mentioned spurs - i reckon they could do an everton and not make the group stages!!!) are all playing in the champions league on a wed night, i hope our players are hurting big time and ready to take it out on the likes of West Ham, Fulham or whoever the following saturday.....

I would start Kuyt up front with Torres - the guy works his bollix off and can be the perfect guy to close down players while keeping torres sharp for the counter-attack.....

I think we might only need to sign a left winger, a left back for the squad and possibly a holding midfielder if mascher leaves..... i would also bring Danny Murphy back if possible as a squad player - his passing is brilliant, he loves LFC, he never relied on pace of any sort anyway and could be the Gary-Mac type signing that could work out brilliantly and be classed as a master stroke.....

One of Arda Turan, Van Der Vaart would be grand to play on the left wing / attacking midfield.....

As a holding midfielder, i am not so sure to be honest - Parker would be an ok shout but somebody like Gago or Keita would be good as well.......

For left back, i'm not sure. I would personally start agger there anyway so any signing would be a squaddie.......
