I don't have a problem with Yossi coming out with this or Rafa bombing him out. Throughout Benayoun's LFC career he's blown more cold than hot, IMO. Must have been frustrating for the manager to see a skillful player being totally ineffective, often when played from the start.

Rafa Benitez is the boss, and a bit of a megalomanic (in a good way), so he's told a millionaire thanks for your service but now is the time to find a new club. In the same situation I'd have said the same.

Seeya later Benayoun thanks for the games where you were good.

So a player doesn't like their manager

          No ****.

Ballague even said that Rafa's the sort of manager that needs a high turnover of players due to his methods. I agree with Rich

Joe Cole could probably say the same about his time under Maureen, but he chooses to keep his gob shut.

Some players are just weak...Yossi falls into that category imo.

And is'nt it a great coincidence, and what luck for Yossi, that when Rafa supposedly told him find a new club....Chelski just happen to come in for him...i wonder which happened 1st, although i have an idea.

                Good comparison there!

I think everyone on here will agree to an extent that Rafa wasn't the arm around the shoulder type of manager and sometimes his man management style certainly wasn't everyones cup of tea but he was the manager and the best thing to do is roll your sleeves up and work harder!

Yossi is now yesterdays news and Chelski's problem - I'd be very happy to see the other whingers at the club shown the door!

One statement after he's left giving fans his reasons hardly makes him a whinger.

If he'd have made something up people would have seen through it and called him a cunt.

That 1 quote was clearly quite a big whinge!

Not saying that Rafa was right in his man management style at all (in fact I think it was pretty poor) but he's done himself no favours IMO by coming out with this sort of article.

He's gone now and for a player that never managed to put it together on the pitch consistently - perhaps looking closer to home as to why he didn't play too often would be the best place to start!

Maybe so, but it's a bit harsh calling a guy a whinger based on 1 vent, which appeared in NOTW so as likely been heavily chopped for extra oompth, and when he's clearly not the only member of staff feeling like (note I said feeling like, not is) a victim of workplace bullying?

Well the NOTW should be taken as it is - a ****e newspaper that sensationalises everything they can.

As I've said previously I didn't agree with Rafa's man management style - interesting to see that those that come out and say things are the ones that aren't getting much game time - I've never seen a Pepe, Kuyt or Lucas for instance come out and make comments like this.

Essentially this is a pointless discussion Rafa has gone as has Yossi - perhaps though a bit more respect for the man that gave you the chance to wear the red shirt of LFC would have been more appropriate than the article that appeared!

I say fair play to Benayoun. I can't possibly know what goes on off the pitch and between the manager and players in private, but if I was doing my best at my job and never got a whiff of support or communication from my boss, if he treated me like a pawn in his system and never showed me or my work process any consideration, I would think he was an absolute dick as well and start looking for another job asap. I have worked for absolute *******s many times, they breed them here in the USA as if they were rabbits, and I can tell you, I've always DREAMED of having a go at them in the press for their absolute cuntishness. So, while I am a fan of Rafa's results and ambitions, I can understand that I wouldn't want to work for him. And I can completely understand taking a shot at him in the press after suffering indignities under him at work for years. Does that make me soft in your eyes? I don't give a ****.

All of that said, what is Rafa's problem with Left Wingers? Babel/ Riera/ Benayoun? I mean, how is it that all three of them were so much trouble and this, was our #1 problem position? For me, one of the problems is Rafa's refusal to make a ****ing decision. He rotated this spot for years and if none of the players were good enough, well, at least work with them as men to get the best from them. Shocking to me that he couldn't figure out how to manage this situation and get these players behind a program and plan.
