Rafa never had a long term fututre at the club. Idoubt he will ever spend a lot of time at any one club, purely because of his management style. He is going to end up pissing off the wrong people.

I am almost certain he went because Torres and Gerrard has words.

And how many of our players came out defending Benitez? That really shows how far he had fallen, and totally lost the dressing room. Its a shame, but man management is as important as tactical awareness, especially at a big club with big egos.

Hopefully, we will see Roy get the most of of the players we have left, and get the team playing with a smile again.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

      Come and meet the missus.

Having played and watched football for many a long year, I still don't feel qualified to offer too many opinions on stuff but Rafa, in many ways, really got into LFC - our heritage etc.

However, 'things' were clearly not brilliant under his management. It may have been discussed before, and if it was I missed it - but the likes of Gerrard and Carra have yet to deliver their verdict on his reign whereas Gerrard was bloody quick to publicly support Capello after England's World Cup **** up.

I'm sure we'll get the full story in due course and I reckon we're in for an interesting season.

I'm sad to see Benni go, particularly to the chavs, but, if anything like he claims is true, who can blame him?

Balague alluded to something like this when he said that for rafa's methods to work the squad has to be completely overhauled every 3 seasons or so and the fact that he also fell out with senior players at Valencia could possibly lead to the conclusion that its a weakness within Rafa.

Its not good for team spirit and harmony either and the last season was when the chickens came home to roost because none of the players looked like they were really going all out to save rafa's job.

No one bar pepe really stood up and that tells its own story. You cant treat players like that because believe it or not, even players earning 80 grand a week have feelings. People arent machines and he wouldnt like it if someone treated his daughters like that in their workplace.
Possibly. Obviously we have never worked with him so we will never really know. I didn't know anything about him falling out with Bellamy, I thought he we sold over the Riise incident. I think buying Keane in the first place was a mistake and it is something that in terms of depth has cost us dearly as we never replaced him. Babel and Riera though seem to have dug there own holes, though Babel by the sounds of it has tried to actually make up for it. Clearly Yossi is pissed off and Rafa has clearly aggravated him, but that doesn't alter Yossi appearing to have a high opinion of himself and his performances, which this season, where not the best, nor does it stop this article being classless.

No they didn't, but it is not often that players do when a manager leaves, plenty of other players where happy to say good things about Rafa when they left the club, he did also say that the dressing room was pretty normal in the players feelings towards the manager in that some liked him, some didn't and some varied their opinion week to week.

Seriously though people, if you must argue black is white and vice versa, can it at least be done without making things personal; its all about opinions, not posters.

          Thanks.

Yeah Pepe always stood up for Rafa, but what you need to remember is that he played in just about every game and was always a guaranteed starter.

Also the role he plays as well. No being set in a formation in a position that doesn't suit you and getting yelled at for then slipping out of position.

And he strikes me as far more mature and calm than the average footballer. No pats on the back required.

Because it made no sense after I deleted the one it was replying to.

And also, the last bit was flagrantly untrue as you're back here this morning

I seen that after realising you deleted Craig's post too. My 'move on' comment was about Rafa, not me going away on another hissy fit.

Our hopes are dashed once again. What a disappointing start to the working week.
                      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I can't believe how many people on here are backing Rafa here. It is truely shocking that a manager would treat a player like this. What does he expect from his players if he treats them like this? Surely he should be doing everything he can to motivate players to play well and feel confident?

And to the people who have mentioned that players like Kuyt don't seem to have the same problems with Rafa - that'll be because regardless of how well they are playing, they get picked.

This article leads me to believe that Roy Hodgson's management skills (good team ethic and spirit) are going to get an getra 20% out of our fringe players like Babel, Reira, etc.
