this is where we're at with 7 days to go in the ''big transfer window''
Just thought I would do this for Hicks and Gillett's entire reign. It's what we all know, but thought I would see what the rough numbers are.

If you take it as 3 seasons for what they have been in charge that is £9m a season, if you include this season as well since we are near the end of the main Summer window then it is £6.8075m a season.
We still may sell Mascherano, Insua and maybe one or two others which could take it down to a near zero net spend under Hicks and Gillett.
For comparison, in the same time we have spent £45.5m+ on a new stadium that building hasn't commenced on and £130m+ and growing quickly on interest payments. The same time has also seen about £130-140m come into the club via matchday revenue.
edit ... Cavielieri to add too when i get a definitive figure
So going by those figure and including Cavileri and Nemeth fees our net spend under H&G to date is ~£23-24m
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
????
shelvey 1.75
Jones 2
how much was poulsen? about 5m?
also remember Hicks promised funds on top of that as well ............must be about to spend about 50million+ in the next few days
going to be an interesting few days........where i am sur our spend will be probably 10million tops.
plus joe cole whose signing on fee comes out of transfer kitty and is prob about 3-5 mill.
wilson was 3 mill as well.
thats 3, 1.75, 2, 5, 3-5, 3 = £16.75-£18.75 mill approx this summer so far.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.
I'm not sure its all that sensible to try counting signing on fees (by guessing), if we do that we've got to start counting things like money paid to players when they leave too, and signing fees for new contracts, which ends up with stuff like our famous "spent" £20m budget last year.
Those things are happen at all clubs and are not what fans tend to think off as "transfer budgets"; these sort of figures are never going to be all that accurate no matter what, but they do provide some sort of overview if you're consistent, especially when compared relatively with the clubs around us.
All I know for sure is I won't be having to eat all those hats on Sept 1st
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?
Tom Hicks (27 May 2010):"We have no intention of selling any of our top players and we have a substantial transfer budget in place. There's so much misinformation about transfer spending. It's more than doubled under the ownership of George and myself from the previous three years and we will make a significant investment this summer. It's really about getting the right players."
Martin Broughton (16 July 2010):"I've said it before and I'll say it again, we have no need to sell any players to pay off the debt. If we were to sell anyone, then the money would be reinvested in the squad."
With the above comments in mind, and in the interests of fair play, we'll be keeping a close watch on Cecil's purse strings to see if Roy's transfer kitty materialises;
PLAYERS OUT (£23.9m)
08.01.2010 Andrea Dossena Napoli £4,700,000
10.01.2010 Andriy Voronin Dinamo Moscow £1,800,000
04.02.2010 Nikolay Mihaylov FC Twente £1,500,000

23.08.2010 Diego Cavalieri Cesena £3,000,000
25.08.2010 Krisztian Nemeth Olympiacos £1,000,000
PLAYERS IN (£10.55m)
12.01.2010 Maxi Rodriguez Atletico Madrid Free
10.05.2010 Jonjo Shelvey Charlton £1,700,000 *
08.07.2010 Milan Jovanovic Standard Liege Free
19.07.2010 Joe Cole Out of contract Free
21.07.2010 Danny Wilson Glasgow Rangers £2,000,000 *
31.07.2010 Fabio Aurelio Out of contract Free
12.08.2010 Christian Poulsen Juventus £4,550,000 *
18.08.2010 Brad Jones Middlesborough £2,300,000
(* indicates additional payments may be applicable)
CURRENT AVAILABLE FUNDS: £13.35m (plus the "substantial transfer budget in place").
And it's only likely to get worse, the Mascherano deal is likely to take that to somewhere around the £30m mark, you could also probably assume we're also getting some loan fee for Aquilani which isn't included.
