I think the majority of our tagets MAY have been put in place by Benitez and Macia sometime a go. I think we have cracked on with these targets and Hodgson has been asked what he thinks about them.

Then comes down to Hodgson and Purslow speaking to and convincing the players that LFC is the right club to join.

Very excited about this signing, if he can avoid the number 7 curse and keep fit, we've got a fantastic player on our hands. One of the most naturally gifted players in the league.
Oddly, I always thought he'd end up playing for us for some reason. Probably due to when he was a pundit on TV and praised us so highly.

Indeed. The gloss of Rafa's reign may have worn of for me and a few other lads, but just because he has left doesn't mean there is a need to disrespect him.

Like many managers at LFC he made some great signings and he made some bad ones. Rafas problem has been that he has been in a position where he was unable to make mistakes and get away with it.

Works incredibly hard. Great tackler. Good passer of the ball. Scores more goals than Mascherano. English, and premiership proven. And he's shown at West Ham that he can step up and take responsibility.

He is also no way near as good as Mascherano and would be a huge step down in quality.

As a pure DM he would be a big step down. I guess it all comes down to if we are looking for a pure DM or someone who can be forward thinking also, as Parker can.

Plus of course, there is a major difference in value.

And if Mascherano does leave, as is looking likely - we will need a replacement. Any suggestions? I like the look of Melo at Juventus too, so there are other options. Any ideas?

What else we really be looking for? I personally wouldn't see Parker as a better option than Lucas there, nor would I consider him to be a better option than Gerrard there. I think he looks good at West Ham, like he did at Charlton because that is his level and I think his price would be far more than he is worth.

Melo would be good, getting him is another matter though.
