I think the majority of our tagets MAY have been put in place by Benitez and Macia sometime a go. I think we have cracked on with these targets and Hodgson has been asked what he thinks about them.

Then comes down to Hodgson and Purslow speaking to and convincing the players that LFC is the right club to join.

I think this is the most likely scenario and no doubt Roy will have a few ideas of his own. Although we still haven't splashed out a fee yet unless we're counting the Shelvey transfer.

Not so sure myself. When Cole was a pundit for our game against Chelsea (as referenced already in the thread), part of his praise for us was centred around Rafa...and how he had us "unbelievably well drilled" and "an absolute nightmare to play against, the hardest opposition around".

Either way it's great news. Him on Jovanovic on frees represent brilliant business, just a shame we couldn't close the Chamakh deal as well.

See that thread.. It's called speculation.. It was speculated that Cole was in Switzerland last night.. The original info may have been crossed but I think we got the gist of it..

By the way, there's more than enough for a very good first XI there (granted were signed at different times etc) but it would've made a quality first XI and all 13 players there cost about £100m for the lot.

Compared to what City and Chelsea have spent (and even Ferguson with the likes of Rooney £32m, Ferdinand £18m, Hargreaves £18m, Nani & Anderson £30m, Berbatov £32m etc - £130m for six ****ing players), you cant really knock Rafa on his overall spend.
