Myself and Craig are the only ones that can read that again with a smug smile. Literally the entire forum called him a **** and overrated but seems to not be the case now we have signed him

A lot of bitterness coming from Chav, Citeh and Spurs fans about how overrated Cole is and how he's joined a club in decline, which is nice, shows they are hurting....and reeeeeeally wanted him to stay\sign.

I'm loving it because I remember for a fact he used to rave on Joe Cole. This one's pissed them off no doubt, they thought he was a cert to choose them (as did I ).

The reaction to Cole signing is a little OTT in my opinion. He's a half decent player, definitely not world class, he's not a patch on Kewell (whilst playing for Leeds).

He's a tidy little player and selling Benny for £5m and bringing in Cole is good business in financial terms, but its like for like and not a significant improvement in quality. I think he's going to disappoint a lot of fans this season, be that through injuries or performances. We need to aim higher if we want to cement a top 4 position.

My Spurs mate about three weeks ago, during civil and respectful discussions about our respective clubs' summer activity:

"Not sure mate. Looks like Harry's priority targets are Joe Cole and Simon Kjaer -two class acts and we hold all the aces with Cole."

Last night:

It is a good sign and hopefully other players will be drawn by the fact that he's chosen us. It shows that we aren't a spent force just yet despite what the rags say day after day.

Oh no no no, I'm simply saying that I think he is genuinely overrated, whilst a lot of people seem to think he's a world class signing and a significant improvement. I really hope he proves me wrong, but I'm pretty sure he'll be a disappointment to a lot of people.
