I dont think Kuyt is anywhere near good enough to get the Number 7 shirt. But then, I'm also one of the people who wouldn't lose any sleep if Kuyt left the club, so I would say that!

Obviously ideally we'd have a world class superstar wearing it, but that isn't going to happen anytime soon, and I'm not one for this "holding the shirt back" thing.

On the basis it might be seen as putting more pressure on a player while we don't have a new superstar to hand it to I think Kuyt is as good a call as anyone as he is unlikely to be effected by it.

Crux of the issue mate. As you say, the fact that they're so ****ed off says it all. He's a class act and their fans are gutted that he's gone.
