i agree with the bit about spearing not being quite good enough for the premier league but could be a decent player at championship level.
Both him and lucas looked exposed today and at times they were all over the shop. As for someone saying that spearing would be better than mascherano - i dont agree with that.
at the age of 19 masher was already a full international with argentina and was a fantastic prospect. I dont know what the issue is with mash - he's a world class player and you dont get many of his type around.
certainly you cant compare spearing with him - well not in this universe anyway.
About the match - i thought as a team we were all over the place and lacked any sort of cohesion. However, given that the average age was about 13 and half years old you can forgive the players for not looking like seasoned pros. We had maybe 8 players under 20 or something like that and not one proper first teamer (bar lucas).
The likes of ince, amoo and ecclestone would have gotten a lot from playing against fully grown men and you can guarantee that no reserve fixture will give them the sort of test that kaiser did today.
