    I'm no fan of Insua, but we should at the very least have had a recall option on his loan deal. I don't care if he wanted to leave, or if he was off on a free at the end of the season.

    I said when we got rid of Emiliano I'd consider keeping him as second choice, I don't know if he'd have been happy with that since he is close to being a regular for Argentina, but needs must surely?

    I am convinced that Roy is refusing to play Agger LCB because with Aurelio and Konchesky suspect injury wise he knows if he puts Agger LCB he would keep having to break up his CB partnership due to needing him at LB.

    We should have just kept Insua, Aurelio and also bought Konchesky (or another LB).
    Forwards.......

      IF you can keep your head when all about you
      Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
      If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
      But make allowance for their doubting too;
      If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
      Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
      Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
      And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
      If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
      If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
      If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
      And treat those two impostors just the same;
      If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
      Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
      Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
      And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

      If you can make one heap of all your winnings
      And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
      And lose, and start again at your beginnings
      And never breathe a word about your loss;
      If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
      To serve your turn long after they are gone,
      And so hold on when there is nothing in you
      Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

      If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
      ' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
      if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
      If all men count with you, but none too much;
      If you can fill the unforgiving minute
      With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
      Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
      And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

        If only Aurelio is fit...
        I know his best position is RB, but if we are not going to play this lad we should have just ****ed him off in the summer to somewhere where he will play. He was a good, steady player for the reserves and I would have thought was at least capable of getting a loan at a League 1 club.

        Seriously, what's the point?

          My thinking as well. I never wanted him to leave as we didn't have enough funds to bring 2 decent LBs that we needed. He wouldn't have been our first choice (just like Konk shouldn't have been neither) but we sure could have used him now or sporadically in case of injuries.

            Aye. In an ideal world I guess we'd have two competent LB's and would not have needed Insua. In an even more ideal world Insua would have been happy to stay and learn alongside said competent LB's and we could have seen how he progressed.

            I would have understood more had we sold Inusa for money, but he went on loan for nothing FFS. Him and Aquilani going on loan for zero cash made little sense really. We could all think of reason as to why they did go on loan, but neither seems the best idea in hindsight.

              I could not agree more. None of those made any sense then and even less now.

                I thought the idea was that a lot of Aquilani's injuries were to his head and we were best shifting him on asap. On the other hand he said himself that his ankle was right again iirc. Anyone a clue how he's getting on in Italy?

                I thought it was a mistake letting him go personally - saying that he won't get much game time and then signing Meireles..
                Really?

                  Aqua man only started one game this past Sunday (against Cagliari) but he did make a fine impression. He did not have any goals nor assists yet but his passing was slick and intelligent, he pushed up on occasion to offer the attack his support and slowed the tempo effectively when Cagliari was chasing the result. Defensively he could not help secure the fragile defence but alongside Felipe Melo I am not so sure it is absolutely necessary. Two of those seems to be working well so it could be a partnership Juve is hoping to see.

                    Liverpool assistant manager Sammy Lee admitted he was pleased with Fabio Aurelio after his successful comeback against Crewe in the reserves.

                    The Brazilian full-back has been sidelined with an Achilles injury since last month but stepped up his recovery by playing 30 minutes in the 4-1 win over the Railwaymen.

                    Aurelio was replaced by youngster Jack Robinson but had already shown enough with some surging forays forward, which were duly noted by Lee.

                    Planned
                    "It was good to see Fabio back and it was always planned that he would play just the 30 minutes," he told Liverpoolfc.tv.

                    "He wanted to play for longer but we have to be careful and make sure he's right and properly fit before we bring him back.

                    "This was a good exercise for us to give some of the lads a game and Crewe are always great to play against because they play football the right way and are a good club.

                    "It's better the any training session because you cannot replicate in training what a football game gives to you."

                    Babel
                    Ryan Babel's performance also caught the eye, as he made and scored one, to stake a claim for a first-team place.

                    His equaliser cancelled out Adam Dugdale's opener after 22 minutes before Tom Ince doubled the advantage.

                    Maxi added the third on the hour mark before Ince completed the scoring.

                    But Lee challenged Babel to produce this type of performance on a more regular basis.

                    He added: "Ryan showed his ability and took his goal well but he has to do that every day and week in, week out. He knows that and he's working hard at it."

                    People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

                        Would be nice for him to have an injury free 6 days.

                          A 31 year old crock whe we signed twice, calls on the players to step up, in the absence of Gerrard and Carra.. (and maybe his own permanent absence)

                          Aurelio, who has had plenty of time to watch the first team having been frustrated by injuries again this season, believes things are getting better under manager Roy Hodgson.
                          Free or not, this guy is taking a wage packet from LFC and needs to go..

                            Mate, he should be starting every game instead of PFK.

                              I agree but why sign him again, if he's not going to play him?
