i would be worried about skrtel/carra at centre backs this year. Think carra will need aggers compusure even more this year

I think Wilson is definetely good enough to make the step up if things get so desperate that we need Agger at LB. Watching him tonight he reminded me a lot of Agger. Strong and smooth in the tackle and he looks to pass the ball out of the back whenever possible. With a bit more composure and a more experienced head for times when the ball needs to simpl be hoofed and we will have a seriously good defender in a year.

Yes,we have a scottish player again at the club,Danny Wilson will step in when needed at centre back,if skrtel doesn't sort himself out.

the only time i expect wilson to get a game this year is if carra / agger / skittle and the greek are injured.

he'll be lumped into the reserves for a year - at most a couple of carling cup apperances.

It pretty much wont be. Aurelio has never gone a season without getting injured. Anyone who thinks an injury prone player, who is getting older at that, will suddenly have an injury free season has issues. We needed to replace him because he's always injured and not there, ignoring how good he is. Insua is poor. He was often passed last season. I cant figure out how keeping these two is suddenly a good thing. I seriously cant.

while i can see the comparison with agger, i would not be happy if we had agger out at lb there and left Carra and wilson in the centre for some big games.

just to risky at the moment.

i think Agger has to be a permanent at cb and we need to bring in a quality lb still

yeah i agree....we had issues there last season, I thought that whilst a gamble, it was the right thing to do moving forawrd by releasing aurelio and looking to sell insua.

Resigning aurelio looks a little bit desperate tbh........he's decent, but is ever going to give us a run of like 5 games in a row, can he give us 25 games plus ?? - i'd still hope we are looking for another left back....if it's a case of hodgson coming out and saying "there is no options for us at the moment, we can't afford any top left backs and the cheaper options are no improvement" then fair enough. But i'd still ike us to bring in another, insua should be 2nd choice, and we can't risk aurelio being first choice.
