What an absolute joke of a resign.

The guy hardly played last season through injury and now this...

    http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/lates...-injury-latest

Roy Hodgson has refused to put a timescale on Fabio Aurelio's return from injury.

The Brazilian sustained an Achilles problem during the 1-0 success over Trabzonspor last month and the boss admits he is reluctant to rush him back too early.

"Where Fabio Aurelio is concerned, caution and prudence have to be the words that we use," said Hodgson.

"He is progressing all the time and his efforts are very commendable but we can't bring him back too early.

"We took him off against Trabzonspor as a precautionary measure, as we didn't want to run the risk of him sustaining a serious problem."

    Caution and Prudence!! FFS

      Aurelio should retire

Joke or not, the potentiality of him playing over Konchesky, makes it a salivating prospect for me.
        Are we winning?

Roy Hodgson, declared his delight at being able to re-sign Aurélio and, during an interview with the club's T.V channel, he said:

"I was quite surprised when I found out he was fully fit and hadn't been offered a new contract, so I think it was a bit of an obvious thing to do.

I said, 'rather than move to another Barclays Premier League club why don't you stay with us?'"

That was his reason for leaving.

Ridiculous re-signing him. He's a gifted LB and a shoe-in when fit, but he's hardly ever been fit in over 4 years at Anfield. FOUR YEARS. Still we've given him an extra two years for the medical staff to practice their new techniques on.

I think there's time yet for it to be a fairly astute piece of business. If....and I acknowledge it's a massive if, but if our new 'crack' medical team can get to the root of his problems, and when he gets fit he stays fit, then it'll have been a good move. He's our best LB by a mile.

                  Looks crazy now, admittedly.

I love the fact that we've spunked out on a crack medical team when we don't have a pot to piss in.

P.S. I like your optimism but Aurelio was injury prone before he joined us!

Aye. He's worse than Darren Anderton.

Perhaps time will tell if this was a shrewed signing on Roy's part but for now it is one of the worst.

I thought Roy said last week that we could use Aurelio if needs be - so I assumed from that he was close to full fitness.

Imagine the player he'd be if he wasn't made of glass

On the serious note, I think we have a big problem there. Aurelio he is a good player when fit but he is rarely fit.

I think Roy also made a big mistake with Konk not only in term of not being a good enough to play for LFC but also in terms of injuries. He played like 3 games so far and left 2 for the medical reasons and that is also becoming concern now.

Our only options are Agger, who is really not a LB and Darby, who has no future with us.

                                If only Aurelio is fit...
