Post Match Thread - Arsenal (H)

Stunning performance by the lads when it comes down to guts and determination.

Have to say, Skrtel was fantatstic today and looked back to his best. I remember when he bossed Drogba in the past and his display against Chamakh was similar.

Whole team dug in today and were very dogged. Be interesting to see this year how we do against teams who play like we did today, but I do think we will be very hard to beat once again.

Great display from the lads, i'm proud of them. N'gog is at the moment a better option than Torres, who badly needs game time though. A hard one to call.

And Pepe i hope you got it out of your system now, and we can see the old reliable, fantastic Reina for the next 37 games.

I'll get slated for this, but Skrtel looked good because we didn't have the ball and were defending deep. He's still poor in retaining possession and handling counter attacks. The circumstances suited him.

I agree we were really unlucky not to take 3 points today against a decent Arsenal team and down to ten men. Proud of them actually. Feel really bad for Pepe because he is the best keeper in the world, and we all know how gutted he will feel. 2 points might be important at the end of the season too, but I reckon he'll save us a lot more than he loses, as usual.

A good performance against a good team in bad circumstances and they didn't beat us. disappointing but much to be positive about.

Now piss off arsen, let's hear from Roy.

We need more speed on the wings! As good as Kuyt is he is never going to beat his man and race to the line!

If we need to sacrifice Mash to get a new striker and winger in then so be it.

But Kuyt can beat his man and did so plenty of times today.

Pace is not the only way to beat a player.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger talking after the match - apparently he "didn't see" Joe Cole's tackle on Laurent Koscielny so can't comment on the red card.

That's just a **** arguement. You could say the exact same for Carra.

Skrtel played a blinder today, solid as a rock.

He actually did a lovely move where he skinned his defender and almost set up a goal, but Jovanovic is a Kuyt clone and one of them in the team is enough. We need flair and pace on the other flank.

Excellent point under the circumstances. Mascherano was immense. Gerrard was excellent - flying into tackles, great range of passing. Hope he keeps it up. Skrtle was brilliant as well. 10 men against Arsenal for 45 min - you've got to be happy.

Great effort by the lads today.

No, because Carragher is very good at the things I've mentioned yet Skrtel isn't.

He was a rock, but I still don't want him in the team when we're playing inferior sides.
