You do realise that Puyol is a good ball player and he brings it from the back without much difficulty. He's more pacy than Carra. In a couple of yrs he'll be like Carra is now. Carra cant bring the ball from the back to push their players back. He shats himself whenever there's a guy 4-5 yards around him. I'm going a bit OTT but if he's a regular CB for us week in week out, it'll definitely hurt us moreOriginally posted by JohnDoe View PostBarca play with Puyol, who's quite a similar player to Carra, only he's got **** hair. They do quite fine.
Both of them lack aerial dominance and assertiveness. I'm not saying Carragher is aerially dominant, but he's better than both. You need that player in your team, any team.Patience when teased often, transforms into rage

Same here.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostMascherano was ****ing immense throughout, a towering performance. I hope to **** no move materialises. Man of the match for me.
Before today's game I just wanted him to go, just because he's taken the stance that he wants to leave. But he gave a truly professional performance this afternoon, and if he was to go he'd be missed.
Please don't go Masch.............

I've watched almost every Barca game last season. No.Originally posted by destinydude View PostYou do realise that Puyol is a good ball player and he brings it from the back without much difficulty.
No, he's really not. He's more pacy than Carra.
CB should generally not play around with the ball when they're pressured by players, they just need to find the simple pass. One of them should have a bit more in terms of passing, but we've got that in Agger (Wilson is going to be that type as well). In a couple of yrs he'll be like Carra is now. Anyway, this is going back and forth, so that's my 2p.

Hard. I can understand why the Ref gave an instant Red. The Arsenal player's reaction made it look even worse. Under normal circumstances it's a defo yellow and since Red Cards cant be downgraded to Yellows when appealed for, it wont get turned down IMO.Originally posted by greenbloodred View PostSurely JC's red card will be rescinded?Patience when teased often, transforms into rage

10 man side pins arsenal in their own half for large periods of the 2nd half, and only miss out on 3 points thanks to a goal of the **** happens variety. lots to be excited about despite several occasions where we tried to give it away. kuyt and jovanovic looked great going forward and ngog with a lovely finish. not too bad really.dave of mutilation

Why Oh Why Oh Why Oh Why does Gerrard take corners?? Absolutely pitiful.
My only criticism. Cole was unfortunate. Pepe got his howler for the season out of the way. I'd have took 1-1 at HT. Guts, determination. Looked a different team already.I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

There's no conflict there. I've already said he looks a useful player, no Voronin certainly which was my concern, but he's nothing special either. Not a game changer, but useful nevertheless. Not the kind you want playing against Birmingham at home certainly.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostBacktracking in record time there?
(watch him score a hat trick against Brum now)

Back and forth cos you and I cant agree on it but it'll hurt us more if he plays week in week out esp against pacy teams. Not just defensively but our overall play. In tight situations, it's the CB's who can unlock the whole cramped up system. Pique is ace at doing that. Puyol is good. Puyol is pacier than Carra and can play the ball quite well. You can do a poll and many would say that too.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostI've watched almost every Barca game last season. No.
