I think another big point is that Our most expensive signing (Torres) would only come in at number 5 on their list.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
tbh i was exited about them both..watching Diouf at WC 2002 and knowing we've already signed him was a fantastic feeling, and Keane i've liked since his Leeds days, but jesus christ what turd they both ended up being
Just shows the difference in budgets over the past decade - still players still come to Anfield over the bigger pay days out there - Nando (turned big nose down 3 times) - Cole (plenty were interested on a free for him!)
