I agree about the media attitude to him had he been a Man U player. I actually read a newspaper piece about that Macheda bloke last season that described him as "one of the finest players of his generation". This after one decent goal the season before last against Villa and another credited to him after a team-mate's wayward shot hit him and deflected in, followed by almost a total no-show last season. Ngog's been far more impressive at the highest level. He was also much, much better than that Chamakh bloke for Arsenal yesterday who looked to have been somewhat over-hyped in pre-season

It’s a bold statement, but on yesterdays evidence he definitely was. He was excellent yesterday, chased absolutely everything and gave the Arsenal defence plenty to think about. We missed his presence after he went off, and although it didn’t help having 9 men, Arsenal were finding it a lot easier to break up our attacks and counter.

I thought the same. He was running out of breath but I think we rushed with Torres substitution.

Actualy I thought Roy made some poor sub choices yesterday.

Jova is much better defensive player and being natural lefty he could cover LB position better than Maxi. We were lucky they did not explore that side better.

I am not sure why Masch was taken out unless he was injured.

All in all it was too risky to go with 3 subs especially as Torres is still not ready and it almost backfired with Aggar..

The Maxi one, maybe, but we don’t know yet how good Jovanovic is defensively, and I did expect Maxi to be our first change for someone.

May or may not be the case.

Sometimes the smart players like Masch simulate more than they are really hurt to buy some extra time before leaving the pitch and put the pressure on the ref to penalize the opposite team player, who committed the foul, for that or any future tackles.

On that note, I didn't read anything about his injury after the game so it may be just a knock if that..

Sure they are smart when they can take advantage of the situation (piss off the opponent and their fans in the process) regardless if you and I don't find that football like whatsoever.

It is a sad reality and without the fundamental changes inside out it will stay as it is.

Also it depends for which team they play .
