Another Aussie in my department and I have a great laugh at the new Fosters adds. We're trying to work more 'strain lingo into our conversations now.

As for the match;

+ Babel got himself a goal after a semi-decent performance, will hopefully do wonders for his confidence.

+ Poulsen put in a solid shift, after spending the full summer slating him I was surprised, looks like he has a good footballing mind and his experience could prove useful. Looked to grow into the game towards the end and was unlucky to have his goal ruled out.

+ Torres looked sharp when he came on, looks like he's got a yard of pace back and his link up with Jova was good.

+ Jova is a one man battling ram, could prove to be a brilliant signing.


- Some of the football was dire, at some points the game really was like watching paint dry.

- Aqua and Kuyt we're both left out completely so inevitably rumours are flowing in about moves for the both of them.

- Joe still looks a bit lost in the man in the hole role, excellent pass for Babel's goal, but a poor penalty and went missing alot.

- 1-0 is not a brilliant scoreline to take to Turkey, they are always lethal at home, just look at the parallels between the two Bestikas games a few seasons back.

- No Pacheco was a let down, seemed the type of game to give him a run-out would have been nice to see him come on for Maxi instead of playing it a bit safer with N'gog.

We need to play better against Citeh in my opinion, we will have some better players out but I think we need to hit the Manc's with a high tempo and get right into them!!
