Both would give us more width, pace, creativity and trickery which is what we are in very short supply.
But will they ever adapt to premiership is another thing. We need someone who is quaranteed to do the job, Kuyt can do that. If Turan, Sanchez or whoever turns out to be Mark Gonzales II we would be properly fcuked.

For example look at Nani, god remembers how much scum paid for him and how long has it taken him to make an impact?

Sacrificing Dirk for a new winger is just too risky imo.

Agree completely. Better the devil you know on this occasion, especially when he's as good as Kuyt.

Dirks not playing tonight, apparently its either a deal has been struck with Inter or he's refusing to play.

I thought it was Mascherano who was refusing to play?

Surely Dirk wouldnt be that unprofessional.

You can make that claim for any player coming to PL including Dirk.

There is always a risk involved when you're buying a new player.

Dirk didn't turn out to be as good of a striker as it was expected from him based on his performance in Dutch league but his working ethic made him invaluable part of LFC since he joined us.

The question is if the new signings are adaptable for PL style of football and if they will be given an ample of time and opportunity to settle and adjust like it happened in Dirk's case or they won't.

On that note, imo both Arda and Alexis would be great additions and they would bring a different, fresh look to our offensive line.

Nah, there’s not a chance Dirk would refuse to play. I doubt Masch would either (unless he doesn't feel fully fit and thinks there is more chance he might get injured), but definitely not Dirk.

Is that confirmed that Kuyt is not playing or it is just a speculation?

And the risk in my books comes not worth taking if we lose our current number one player in that position in process.

Time to settle and adjust is the luxury we would lose if we lost Dirky. There's only one week left of this transfers window, hopefully we are done selling and add a couple more players.

                                Not necessarily.

Yes you want to do your shopping early in the off season to give a new player a chance to gel but it is not uncommon to buy players just before transfer window closes.

On that note, Maxi can play that position (to me he'd be a prefered choice) until the new signing is ready to start, which may happen sooner rather than later if you consider Poulsen for example.

It seems he will be Roy's first choice, over much safer option like Lucas, even though he never played in PL.

We sure could do the same with a new winger if we have too (by having a bigger picture in mind).

Also when it comes to the new players, unless we sell I am not sure anybody is coming..
