    Mavinga interview...

    (PHoto Presse-Sports)

    Translation:

So, what is your situation, three weeks having carried off the Euro of least than 19 years with France?

I am disappointed. I thought that thanks to this success and what I produced on the ground I would have opportunity to train with the first team and to play ends of matches. But a new coach arrived. Roy Hodgson, who replaced Rafael Benitez, is changing the organization of the club: it tries to favour the English players to the detriment of the foreigners, unlike his precursor. He apparently maintained that he liked to do again an English club of Liverpool. This already feels at the level of the team reserve. It is a choice, it is necessary to respect it.

You could discuss it with him?

Yes, quickly made. He did not say to me much. Problem, it is that there are far too many players in the training of pros: they are twenty-eight! Suddenly, while Rafael Benitez had allowed me to draw me away with pros during the second party out of place past, I went back with reservation. Frankly, I do not appreciate. I am disappointed and irritated. Then, I want to leave, why not in loan. This club, I like it, but if situation makes me leave, I shall make it. I do not ask to compete for a whole season with the team pennant. I just claim the possibility of drawing me away with her, then of having a little time of game later. Last season, I was in a logic of progress and, if I stay with reservation, this is going to slow it down. I hope to have the chance to find a club.

    You have lanes?

In France and in England. But it is difficult, seen the situation of the market. On top of that, Liverpool is not very hot to lend me. If I do not leave this summer, I hope that I shall be able to make it in January, if my situation does not evolve by then. What is sure, it is that I shall never lower arms. I am not going to stop to work, even if I stay with reservation. I want to arrive at a good level and I shall go at the end of things. »

Stupid thing to say. The guy is just saying he wants to play first-team football which is natural for his career. You should be happy that we have talented young players who want to play and not sit in the reserves. He's willing to go out on loan so thats a good thing

I read it as as dig at Roy because he's favouring english methods rather than the previous regime.

If I'm wrong then I take it back.

Also blame Shaggy for posting this whilst I'm already hot under the collar with Masher pulling out of tonights game.

Sounds like a bit of both to me. Moreso V's post though, he's unhappy that he's back with the reserves when he feels he should have made the step up. Translation is **** but it also sounds like he was making that step up under Rafa, but now isn't

Fair enough I suppose, but bottom line is if he was good enough and ready now, he'd be further on.

Don't know why these dumb footballers don't just keep their mouths shut more often, no need to mention the English aspect IMO
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

Its the same situation as Pacheco, they are at that age where the needed to be playing regularly competitive games at a higher level than the reserves. Playing in the championship would do Mavinga alot of good

The English aspect is a fact currently enforced by the league. It's also a fact that is having a detrimental effect on the current crop of foreign players at the club (and at any top level club). It's not advantaging the breakthrough of the best of talents, it's a policy which is aimed at improving the national team's competitiveness in the long term.

It's highly debatable that this policy is going to improve the quality of the national team because the best clubs are doing the right thing in terms of coaching to produce the highest quality of players; I'm going to cite Arsenal as a case in point here (even though this is debatable as they have not won anything of note recently). True, they're buying young players at a cost, but Wenger's coaching methods have been proven now and again.

Roy Hodgson is merely managing as best as he could under those circumstances. It's the wrong system which favours English players, independent of their quality.
              Are we winning?

The irony is that Mavinga is classed as 'home grown' from next year (I think) could have that ridonkulously wrong though
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Agree 100%, i really want to see Pacheo get games this season, his physique is coming on nicely as is his play, time to experience the rough and tumble of the Prem more often now imo, if not then a loan.

                        Same here.

Danny, with Aqua man being loaned, should be our first back-up option (unless Ola arrives and it will be used as an attacking mid)) for SG and JC if injured and I can only hope Roy does give him a chance to play.

I think this thread title is little more that **** stirring.

One player that a lot of people have never heard of is pissed off at not training with the first team.

Reina, Agger, Skrtel, Auerlio, Torres and co don't seem to be joining the 'english are against us' club.

                          Shaggy is **** stirring.

He's really not mouthing off at all, or having a big pop at Roy. Having read the French rather than the dodgy translation, he's just being honest; he mentions the current squad size (ie.the 25 man thing) meaning that despite having felt like he was about to break through under Rafa and had a good summer, he's now going to be in the reserves for another year, and he feels he needs to be playing competitive football, whether on loan or whatever. What he says about the foreign/English aspect isn't said as if a criticism, just as a fact as he sees it, one which he says he "has to respect". (and frankly, getting rid of Rafa and bringing in Roy, along with the regs, was always going to lead to some of that). Oh, and he likes the club and won't stop working hard even if he is stuck in the reserves not playing

Talented young player wants to play football, doesn't slag off manager or club but gives a relatively open interview about where he's at and how he sees things, and people are telling him to **** off? Seriously though

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
