i've said it every game so far in the europa and i will continue. Brilliant, a chance for to rest the key players, and for those in the wings be it squad players or youth pushing through have another game/challenge to fight for form and to prove they have something to offer. I have no issues with sending out something like this

Worst case scenario, we get beat, they all play ****, and we have to assess the reasons and see if they those players still have something to offer or we realise they are well short of being able to step into the league if needed

But....if they go and get a result, and the likes of kelly, pacheco if he gets on get a bit more experience, and the likes of babel, cole, poulsen etc get a bit of game time - some of them might just find some form.


For what it's worth - i'd be disappointed if that team didn't get a result. Yes it's difficult going to turkey, and it's a shame we didn't get the extra goal - but those players should be looking too score away from home - all got a bit to prove imo, be it to show they have potential, still have something to offer, or new too the side. - And a defence of reina, kelly, carra, skrtel/kyriakos and aurelio - well that has to be good enough to play in the league - so they should be capable of not conceding more than two.

reina - world class
kelly - promising lad, who needs the game/experience and we are hoping is good enough to cover johnson
carra - we know all about him
skterl/kryiakos - two experienced internationals
aurelio - has to prove he has something to offer and repay the faith in bringing him back
poulsen - new to the side and has to show he can step up and cover mascher
lucas - plenty of prem and european experience
kuyt - again, fighting with maxi for the right side, a good game helps him
cole - sent off, missed a pen, new to the side, will be desperate to get it going
babel - another chance to show he does have something to offer
ngog - keep it going young man.

i think we will score - 1 - 1 is my predication, but even 2-1 them see's us through on away goals. those players should be good enough to win, certainly draw, at the very least score, which would then mean they shouldn't concede more than two.

as roy said previous to first leg, the priority is the league and these games should be treated as a chance to blood youngsters and give squad players some game time:
