    Wilson and Shelvey

Do either stand any chance of playing in the league this year.

I can understand Shelvey not being used or only being in the squad but shouldnt Wilson be pressing? Especially seeing skittles and Carragher are penalties waiting to happen?

What a strange thread. What has Carragher done wrong this season?

i think carrra is getting old he has been a great player. I have thought for a long time he is a penalty waiting to happen. He always just made that tackle just timed it right. As he gets older he will time more and more wrong. He needs to be rested etc a bit like hyypia who looked a liability then get rested and looked great when brought back.

ITs not meant to be a dig against carra but you do need to plan for the future and bring players in rather than wait and then go **** how do we replace him.

I think wilson could replace skittles obviously i think agger should be playing is agger and wilson the future?

I can see you point about Carra getting old but imo he is still good enough to start this season.

Questions will be raised if he will be regular next year though.

I am not sure if Wilson is future or not as he has not played much but he should be featured in FA and Curling Cup at least this season.

If Roy has no intentions of using his this year we should be looking to loan him to championship league so he can continue with his development.

Of course he's getting older, who isn't?

With all the flak that Roy is getting here, can you imagine the outcry if he starts playing Wilson? Way way too early into new management to start thinking about giving games to a rookie especially at centre back.

I'm guessing we didn't sign him to never play, and when the time comes he'll see some action.

Living up in Edinburgh, I got to see a wee bit of Wilson last year. No doubt the lad has massive, massive talent. Ready for our first team though, who knows? Over the last few years players such as Jonny Evans and Pique have developed quickly as good young CB's and made the step up. I think Wilson has the potential to do likewise but perhaps a few outings in the cups this year (Europa / Carling / FA) and we will see more of him next year. I have also been really impressed by Kelly so far and hope more young uns have the ability to make the step up. I was less impressed by Insua getting punted out the door after only one season in the first team... Same as happened to Warnock...

Shelvey - no idea - big rep, but I haven't really seen him play.

I'd say the signings were very odd. Looks like someone in the club wanted them irrelevant of the manager. They are young and look like they have talent I'm sure they will get chances in the league cup and possibly UEFA. I'm not sure I want untested young players getting a chance before we have an established team pattern. Seems both unfair on, and unhelpful for, them.

How are Ngoo and Shelvey playing?

Wilson is injured,no?I heard he has hamstring problem.Maybe our new S/S team should look into making sure he doesn't develop any serious problems there. He had that problem up in Scotland and now has it again.

I hope we see more of Shelvey.

                            Looks promising and hungry!

Shelvey is supposed to be pretty good on free kicks. Loads of potential and we need to use him in Europa & Carling at least.
